One of the best Survivor games, no doubt top 3. The gameplay loop is very fun and the meta progression and incentive to keep playing is outstanding.

As of 11-23-23 here's what we have so far as meta progression to keep you doing runs and coming back for more:

Edit 10-24-24: There's even more meta upgrades and incentives to keep playing. Artifacts when you beat it on agony, a particular artifact that when enabled lets you acquire uncommon equipment. Shards when you beat the boss that can be used on every character for an infinitely increasing stat boosts. And a challenging vault map that's a money sink so gold remains useful after you've bought all blessings. Not to mention currently 500 achievements to hunt!

1. Coins used for your typical meta upgrades like increased damage, but also for buying equipment.

2. Potion bottles found from gray chests dropped by elites. These are your reroll, banish, and other options. The more you find and retrieve through the well the more uses you have of them, up to a certain limit. Must obtain potion ingredients first.

3. Equipment obtained from chests. These can add flat bonuses or interesting effects. Retrieved through the well (only 1 per run and afterwards it disables the well, so put the potion bottles in first). Only retrieved and bought equipment can be used on any character for any run. Also uncommon variants that are more powerful but can't be retrieved.

4. Character, stage, and weapon specific achievements that will either unlock new items, abilities, or give gold. All achievements give a small boost to earned experience for everyone so it's always worth it to go for the achievements.

Another thing I really like about this game is that it goes into great detail about pretty much all your stats, including the stats and damage of your weapons even in the middle of a run, and also the stats and damage of any equipment you have that does damage. Hovering over any stat even tells you what modifiers are affecting it. I've never seen a Survivors game give this much detail and it really should be standard for all these games.

I also like that each of the characters has a starting weapon that is unique to them, and then you draw from a pool of common abilities. Other Survivor games usually make the starting weapon not unique and that detracts from the uniqueness of the characters.

At $5 this game is a steal, just buy it if you're at all a fan of Survivor games.

A fun crpg, much better than their previous game Age of Decadence. Unfortunately it has the same problem of unbalanced and not so fun combat. As such DO NOT attempt a combat focused playthrough on your first run on Underdog, you're going to have a bad time.

Positives
+There's a lot of original and interesting lore here. Real effort was put into it, and coming up with ideas of what would happen on a centuries old colony ship.
+Perfecting builds is fun.
+All the non-combat skills have a use in progressing through optional areas and finding more loot. The only one you can probably skip is steal as it doesn't give you much more than cash and minor loot, although you can steal a card to get to someone's apartment.
+There is no binary morality system, and indeed all the factions and leaders have positives and negatives.
+The reactivity to player choice is above average, with multiple factions you can join and different permutations in how things play out.
+The game can be beaten without engaging in a single combat encounter. I recommend a stealth/talk hybrid with zero points in combat skills because you don't need them. Sneak when you can, and have fun figuring out how to stab everyone without breaking stealth (cloak gadget is invaluable), and use speech when you can't stealth. Don't skimp on the science skills. This means there are no random combat encounters and nowhere where you can accidentally run into an enemy.
+I like how balanced the aim shots are. In almost all crpgs headshots are the only viable choice; why shoot their arms when you can do massive damage and quickly kill them with headshots? Here headshots don't do much unless you crit, and cost a lot of AP to use. This makes shooting their legs first to decrease their evasion, then their arms to decrease their accuracy, a viable and expected way to play.
+Stealth is a lot of fun and I wish there was more, and that we could assassinate the critters too.
+EDIT: Devs listened and will soon be adding a customizable Hero difficulty mode!

Negatives
-Combat is ball-bustingly hard even when you are highly optimized and know what you're doing. Yes people have beat the game solo killing everyone on Underdog, but that's not the vast majority of players. It's also not fun requiring many reloads. The devs stated they want combat to be a hard choice which is why it's so hard. Which leads me to...
-It's good they added an easy (Hero) mode but it's TOO easy; turns the game into a joke. You can melee solo with no effort. There needs to be a middle ground difficulty, or better yet customizable difficulty like the System Shock remake gave us where you can adjust combat and non-combat difficulty separately. This makes combat in both difficulties unfun because Underdog is too hard and Hero is mind-numbingly easy.
-Where are the explosive grenades? They can create regular bullets with gunpowder but can't make a frag grenade or pipe bomb? I realize they're probably not here for balance reasons, but still it doesn't make sense.
-No ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the whorehouse.
-Still a bunch of spelling errors, especially at the end game, and dialogue inconsistencies. Surprised these problems are still here. But they're easy to overlook.
-The game tracks various things depending on your dialogue choices, like if you lean towards atheism or theism, as well as other things like how combat oriented you are, your diplomacy, exploration, and stealth usage. It claims these are used in dialogue but from my experience they aren't. Nobody referenced that I snuck everywhere I could, or how much I explored, or that I leaned towards atheism. There are a couple of checks where you can attempt to intimidate someone with your combat score, but that's it. I only saw that twice and failed both times. There's also your factions score, but they don't have as much impact as I was hoping.
-No animations or sound effects for the various grenades. Breaks the immersion when I toss a flashbang and there's barely an effect and zero sound for it.

Ultimately this is a bit of a different experience compared to your normal crpg. Lacking in various areas, but still fun to play.

Overall isn't bad, but doesn't really do anything new of note to the survivors genre. What is currently here was all clearly copied direct from Vampire Survivors, from the weapons, how they evolve, down even to the powerups. The only new thing they add is permadeath with your characters and mutations.

Permadeath is interesting because now you have to weigh leaving the mission early (evac ship appears at predetermined intervals that can be upgraded to come sooner), or risk going further for more resources and character mutations. But if you die that character is gone and everything you spent on them. However you can recruit more. There are different classes but they aren't that much different from each other. Their starting weapon and armor is randomized; they would've been more unique and interesting if they had a set of predetermined weapons/armor. Look at a game like Crafty Survivors to see different characters done well, where each character is totally unique from each other with entirely different play styles.

The mutations are interesting but the game seems balanced around you grinding out the best mutations. Like I just got one that gives me 5 extra projectiles. You can imagine how OP that is for explosives. That means the game is otherwise not particularly balanced.

Here's hoping they can bring more new, fun stuff to the genre. Otherwise I don't feel ripped off spending 4 bucks on it. But in its current state there are better survivors games out there like Soulstone Survivors, Halls of Torment, Crafty Survivors, Army of Ruin, and the upcoming Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor looks promising.

I grew up with Spooky Castle, among other games. Hamumu's games aren't the prettiest, nor are they complicated, but they are fun! This game here has an absurd amount of levels that you aren't likely to beat them all any time soon if ever. Check this out if it looks interesting, you aren't likely to regret it!

Pro tip: you can change the controls by going to your profile from the main menu. Yea I know it's weird.

Hammer up!

Nixxes please port more Ratchet and Clank! That should tell you a lot about the quality of this port of a once PS5 exclusive. Remember it was a different company that did the awful Last of Us port; Nixxes did the good ones like Spiderman. And this is another fantastic port. Really fun game too!

Positives
+I personally have have had almost no performance issues. The game froze for 3 seconds when a combat started, and then resumed with no more problems. Otherwise it's been great with high settings and medium ray tracing. Yes there is a small percentage of people having problems, please give Nixxes time to see and fix your problems.
+PC features are outstanding with tons of options. A lot of quality of life features too like like toggle sprint instead of hold.
+Keyboard and mouse controls work beautifully, so no controller necessary if you don't want to. But if you do it obviously plays great with those as well.
+Same Ratchet and Clank you probably remember from the PS2 but with more stuff.
+The graphics look amazing and animations are nicely done too.
+20 unique weapons where so far each one is unique and fun to play with.
+The rift mechanic is a lot of fun and I like how seamlessly you can travel between them.
+Rivet is super cute and the highlight of the game!

It's not necessary to have played any of the other games in the series to understand and play this one. There's a gallery which will tell you a little bit about each of the characters if you want.

I honestly can't think of any real negatives. Maybe that it's a tad expensive at $60. So if the price isn't a turn off and you like these kinds of games buy it! Otherwise wait for a little sale and then buy it.

An impressive and large game, made more impressive by the fact it was originally a mobile game! If the majority of mobile games were this quality, I wouldn't see them as garbage. It's also ridiculously cheap even not on sale.

Positives
+Tons of places to explore and almost 100 quests to complete.
+While there are a few fetch quests, most quests are more involved, and a fair amount give you choices in how you want to complete them for slightly different rewards. Some choices are clearly superior than others, though, so choice is kind of an illusion unless you really want to roleplay.
+The lore and story is actually pretty interesting, as are most of the quests.
+There are 4 classes you can choose and they're all fun in their own right.
+There are 4 guilds for each of the classes and you can only join 1, so that adds replayability.
+Learning the truth and the meaning of the final area of the game is awesome.

Neutral
+-Sometimes my attacks can hit enemies from far away, and then sometimes I will appear to be even closer and the attack will miss.
+-Not being able to save while in a dungeon map sucks, but does add extra challenge. Expect to lose a lot of time dying and being forced to restart. Remember you can exit and then reenter the dungeon to create an area autosave when you've made progress exploring and killing.
+-Too many quests hard require you to be good at detecting secrets, what with key items being behind secret doors. Extremely annoying if you refuse to use maps. I'd suggest maps just to save yourself frustration, at least after you've done a single pass and want to make sure you didn't miss anything.
+-Intellect, awareness, and personality dialogue checks are great, but there's almost none for the other 3 stats. This means if you aren't playing a mage or cleric you're going to be forced to invest points the former three stats. You can respec at guilds though, but the cost increases each time you do it.

Negatives
-Numerous spelling and grammar errors throughout the whole game. Is it really that hard to proofread or get someone else to do it?
-Game gets very tedious at the end. You're supposed to spend forever grinding out potions and exp. And then it's a tedious affair of using potions every battle and then more potions to heal up after.
-Can't bring your companion into the final area, which is also the most difficult area. Makes sense lore wise, but it would have also been just as easy to let them come with you.
-Armor is overall kind of useless, especially in the late game. How it works is that armor reduces damage up to a maximum of your total armor number. Problem is the toughest enemies are hitting you often for more than the armor you're likely to have, even with potions and abilities. This makes sword and shield builds pretty bad in the mid to late game. Also the biggest dangers in the late game will be from elements anyway which armor does nothing to protect against.
-Paralysis lasts too long even after the nerf to duration. Even with 100+ Holy resistance you're still going to get stunned and paralyzed fairly frequently. Fortunately paralysis isn't too common.
-I don't see any reason why we can't stack attribute bonuses of the same type from different equipment.

While I do have more not so good things to say rather than good things, this was still a very positive experience, and I'll probably play it again one day years from now as another class. It's cheap, it's good, just buy it!

I'm just glad I got this game for free years ago. I would feel so bad if I had given them money after they came back and censored things. Censorship is always bad.

Wasn't really my kind of game. I'll probably give it another shot one of these days, since I played it in EA. Nothing wrong with the game, I just couldn't get deep into it. I'm also not a fan of the art style, and the bosses are annoyingly hard.

I'm giving it a thumbs up because I follow the game and I constantly see the dev patching problems and adding new things. I've also had the dev promptly respond to and fix an error I had. Because of this I didn't refund so I could support a good indie dev. Therefore if this game looks interesting and you want to support an indie dev who actually cares about their community and fan input, buy this game!

Skin is lame based on the picture (not sure where it is in game), and the cat has a certain chance to spawn when you visit a room on the Otago. Can't interact with him or anything so it's pretty pointless.

This should've been free (I did get it free when I bought the game after release, somehow), but it sure as hell is not worth 4 bucks.

A lot more fun than I was expecting, and with a ton of content. You control 4 marines as a single squad that can't be split (you don't want to split them anyway) except to interact with objects, and control them similar to an RTS mission without base building. Another valid comparison is real time X-Com. But it's also a survival game with limited resources.

There's a lot more story than I was expecting, and it's interesting so far. I like how you have the codex entries for more information about everything. Also it's clear the devs have a love for the Alien universe because so far everything is very faithful and accurate. When the action starts the music is exciting. I like how you can stockpile tools, medpacks, and turrets, although I don't understand why ammo disappears between missions. I like how the enemies only get harder if you play poorly and keep getting detected, rather than continuously increasing in difficulty like in Risk of Rain 2. I like how it warns you before you're about to activate a tough fight, and it usually gives you an autosave too. I like the big open missions that let you tackle and explore as you please. You can upgrade your marines and later research new tech.

Although there are various problems, most of them are superficial. Like the character face models leave a lot to be desired. The pulse rifle doesn't quite sound like it's supposed to. Xenos don't really do the screams when you shoot them. I don't like the tired and exhausted mechanic that prevents marines from being deployed. I don't understand why every marine has to have a negative trait (although sometimes a level up ability lets you remove it). I did encounter a soft lock by picking up the sentry turret too fast causing the game to want me to loot it but I already did. Fortunately an autosave was right before. It sucks you can't skip dialogue.

Pro tips:
Overloading sensor beacons is extremely useful, especially when you get to the mine. They will draw every xeno, even when in the hunted phase (but not when detected). Extremely useful for getting around their patrols, so you should never be sitting around with max command points. Make extra sensor beacons!
Using elevators to go between levels gives you an autosave. You can also manually save by welding all the doors in certain rooms shut and then resting.

This is easily the best Alien game, beating out Alien Isolation. This is the first Alien game that truly captures the feeling of being a badass colonial marine, yet also fearful of the xenos. If the gameplay looks fun and you're a fan of the franchise, the game is worth a buy.
