In case you were hoping otherwise... "Demolition Man" mission is still the toughest mission in the game, haha

~ As of now, A is my new favorite letter haha ~

Now seriously though... 404 achievements awarded solely for dying?! This is... I wish I could die more times to get more achivs haha. "Wait... what?!"

I personally give this game an 11 out of 10! Haha

First of all, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone because it's so damn buggy, especially when it comes to achievements!

Secondly, the game also has excessive motion blur effects which can make you dizzy, it doesn't have "real" graphic options and there is no way to turn the volume down whilst in-game (and they do shout a lot in this game!)

Moreover, keep in mind that you need to Verify Integrity Of Game Files each time after unlocking one of the achievements! This thing is mandatory if you aim for a Perfect Game like I did.

Furthermore, if I knew all of the above before trying this "thing" that some may call it a "game"... I probably wouldn't have bothered even installing it but... I must say that the game has some funny achievements haha

All things considered, I feel compelled to give this game a big thumbs down!

~ Only one word can properly describe this game: EPIC! ~

PC version features high resolution textures, texture filtering, high quality shadows and more PC-specific features.

I was pleasantly surprised to see in this game some things that I initially encountered in previous games that I have played:

- The Darkness term - I initially encountered it while playing on Steam the game called The Darkness II . I was very excited to play Alan Wake, given the fact that it had some similarities regarding this thing called "darkness" ("The taken are filled with darkness") and for me somehow it was another point of view of the meaning of this term and how it was portrayed in this game, compared to the other that I have played in the past.

- I immediately thought of Cryostasis [steamdb.info] when I discovered that Alan would heal in the presence of light. In Alan Wake, light is used as a "health pack", just like it was used in Cryostasis, when approaching hands to a lamp for example, your health would go up; it's somehow exactly the same in Alan Wake - you stand in the middle of a light pole and you get all healed up - yay! :P

All in all, I think that my gaming experience while playing Alan Wake was better and far more enjoyable than it should've been, thanks to the fact that I recognized some elements from other games that I had played in the past, which made my playthrough in Alan Wake let's say... enhanced, in more ways than one :D

P.S. Pirated copies of the PC release give Alan... a pretty epic eye-patch haha

§ The game itself has an epic and very complex idea based on the one and only Pandora's Box and all whatnot associated with it but unfortunately it fails to deliver it the way it should and lacks some mandatory things that any video game should have them included (more info in my detailed review below)! §

PROS:

+ The game has great graphics (even for today's standards);

+ Its >>> soundtrack <<< is f♡♡♡♡♡g awesome!!!

+ If you like killing all sort of creatures from ancient myth then this game is for you!

+ You like collecting all the things in a game? If so, by exploring every single corner of this game, you'll even learn one or two things regarding creatures of ancient myth, legend and lore;

CONS:

- GAME BREAKING BUG! -> If you keep falling down with the elevator in the last chapter of the game, enabling Vsync is mandatory so that you can get pass the damn elevator and be able to finish the game!

- The game sometimes feels like a cheap arcadish game (guns don't always fire properly, NPCs sometimes move weird, game physics problems from time to time;

- I may repeat myself, the idea of the game is wicked sick, but the game itself did not come out as it should!

- Online multiplayer no longer works due to the GameSpy servers being shut down!
