Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is pretty much what you'd expect from a Serious Sam game. Big guns and huge hordes of enemies in vast levels paired with great music and a whole lot of humor. I have to admit that I don't really like the first episode (South America) because the setting, the music, and the levels in general feel kind of dull to me, but it gets better afterwards. As a whole, I do recommend this game to fans of fast-paced action.

Serious Sam 3 is not as silly and upbeat as its predecessors, but still very enjoyable. Fighting hordes of enemies feels satisfying and the graphics are quite nice. The enemy spawns can be a little dull and the ammo isn't always well distributed, but this game is generally fun.

Edit on March 9, 2021: Decided to change my review from positive to negative. Even though the game isn't terrible, it's still a huge step down from the previous games (yes, including SS2) due to the lower fun factor. Also, I'm angry that SS4 (and presumably all the future sequels) are going in the same direction as SS3.

Serious Sam 2 is a fun and colorful FPS. It has a lot of different guns and enemies spread over many beautiful, diverse levels, and also a very nice soundtrack. The fights can sometimes be too long and the enemy spawns are occasionally a little redundant, but the overall experience is very entertaining. If you like Serious Sam or shooters in general, you'll enjoy this one.

The original game from 2001 is one of my favorite video games, and TFE HD certainly is a worthy remake. The graphics are great and the gameplay is the same simple, fun alien mass murder madness as before. It doesn't have the Serious Editor or Survival Mode (those are both included in TSE HD), but I still definitely recommend this game.
