Spent years playing this as a teenager. My friend Sean and I would come home from school, not do our homework, and see who could NSF(no shots fired) run RE3 the fastest. Using just the knife on a lot of bosses was extremely difficult, and a few impossible. But we made exceptions.
But this remake has stuff that we didn't have access to on the original release.

Being able to farm specific weapon kills in my first run, allowing me to save points for the Infinite RL in the shop made Nightmare a cakewalk and so far has made Inferno just as trivial. The only RNG that may kill you are the rolling head at the start of the game or the final showdown with Nemesis where he can grab and one shot you if youre not careful.

I had to wait for a sale, since I already bought the entire collection on Console back when it was first released.

Only thing I don't like about RE is RE-Net. Stop data collecting!

Other than that, solid 8.5/10. Normally after 1 play through of a RE game i'm burnt out on it. Actually sat down and did both Hardcore runs in one night. Not much has deviated from the original as far as spawn points and zombie AI Pathing so it was just like playing when i was a teenager again.(to the point you can use the old Bradley games paperback walk through LMAO)

Great graphics, awesome retro skins, and quite a few new things and newer game modes. Sale or not. Up to you. I got about a dollar an hour out of this title which is fairly excellent in my book(if i don't like it, i will run it into the ground until it reaches 0.01 lol)

Only recommending this game because its free and it has mod support.

Other than that, the developer could have done so much better. Everything wrong with this game, FP took and made Rust out of(Not saying Rust is much better, but has way more support and is way more popular).


Pros:
-Plenty to do
-A LOT to explore
-Can tame 90% of everything you come across
-You can use an army of dinos to power level yourself

Neither Good Nor Bad:

-Sounds
-Cheat codes available that don't disable achievements

Cons:
This is gonna be a rant: Getting in and out of water makes me want to kick small animals. Small jumps/rocks completely impede you. your friendly dinos can bodyblock you into a corner and you have to use a console command to get free. Piranha's are completely broken and don't follow their natural behavior. Idk how 1-2 can eat a T-rex in a matter of seconds. You have to cheat to adjust a lot of things with mods in order to make it fun.

Map- REQUIRED for you to get a mod. Getting high enough to get the GPS is stupid.

Lights WAY TOO BRIGHT!!!!!! This is a game BEGGING you to have a light sensitive seizure. Some lightrays go away with commands, but if you have light sensitivity its best to turn OFF loot crates that spawn at night because holy hell... These don't even feel like they belong in the scheme of the game.


All in All, the base game I'd give a 4.5/10... Even if i got it free. I would not have purchased the game at full price. I would have needed 80% or higher discount to buy this.

I can make EA not be a bunch of greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ 10/10

But seriously this game is fun and frustrating. 100% @ 87h of play time is actually more than what I was expecting for this type of game. Legendary is ball breaking, as it should be.

However, it's Early Access with a very active developer

There's so much you can try to do beyond the basic achievements.

I've had the game crash several times for different reasons(mostly because my laptop belongs in the trash) but the constant save feature is an absolute god send.

Post Early Access Review-

What a fun trip Early Access was! The developer was very active with several team members speaking to the community about bugs and needed features in the game. In my 4 decades playing games and the last 20 trying to be a good "beta tester" for a lot of games, this dev was by far the most responsive and actually cared about their game. Please note I purchased the game at full price, after watching a friend of mine play the first one. I enjoy these sim style games somewhat, but a lot are boring. They're mostly linear.

Now on to the review.

Grow from some poor schmuck in a single office space making pong like games in the 1970s to the immortal CEO a giant conglomerate(i ended my last save in 2055 lol)

Negatives First:

Gets FPS laggy once you have a ridiculous amount of employees
No Trading Cards/Badges/Emoticons
No way to re-release older games on newer consoles
No way to remaster games and change their design specs/stats
Achievement worthy actions that don't have achievements


Positives, the best for last:
So much to do
Easy to train your employees up
Sandbox mode to break the game and see how some things pan out before taking to a real game
You can create whatever you want. Your imagination is the limitations of the game
Legendary is hard but very satisfying once you get in a rotation and routine

You can be as tedious as you want when creating rooms, or let the AI preselect decor and room items automatically. Be a developer only or be a publisher. Don't like producing games? Start later and get access to DIGITAL ONLY production. No need to pay anybody to produce your game.

On one save, I didn't do anything but publish regular games. Got majority of the hard achievements. Another playthrough, I got to a certain point money wise and bought every last developer possible and just stacked money by producing games for other people and not even making my own. But my favorite one was getting 10 different IPs to 5 prior to 2005, then once digital/MMOs/F2P games were available, i had almost a dozen server required games going, where I eventually replaced almost all my staff with Support in order to keep up with the work load with much smaller development departments kicking out addons and updates only.

I'm proud to say i have almost tripled my play time since i got 100% of the game completed. But what really sold me on this game after several hundred hours, was breaking the game's support when I converted a MMO with 39 million subs to a F2P game in order to create a sequel, and watched the subs take it out on my 249 support employees with a massive 100% never ending work load. Developer fixed the issue in less than 48 hours prior to the full release of the game.

All in all 9/10 for the game, 10/10 for the developer. Please keep up the good work.

Fast Forward some months after beating it several times and getting 90% of the achievements. Ended up getting a new graphics card so I decided to pick it back up and test it out after many bug fixes, changes and major patches.

Still glorious. And the hilariously fast speed runs you can do after finding YT videos has given the game more life for me. 120h and I've never once touched PVP.

Many people have less time and 100%'d the game. Take your time. Enjoy the murderous surroundings.


Now if they put Rust and Elden Ring in a room and forced them to make a baby, I would be all for that.

Don't mind me I'm just a halo campaign nerd who was a day 1 Halo: Combat Evolved(Not CE) player. MP is too fast paced for me and it gets agitating. I'm old cut me some slack :)

They did a good job but not really worth the full 60. But man.. it's really satisfying. Some of you have bought Skyrim 3-4 times but won't admit it.

So long as they eventually release DLC, I'll be happy and this review will stay positive.

At first it was ok. I gave it a year.

I'm just going to get the achievements and be done. Hardest achievements are the weapon drills and campaign achievements. Most the MM achievements are simply obtained over time.

At least it's free and only costs you your time unless you buy the campaign, which isn't terrible. But does get boring after about 20h. I liked the story, personally.

But as a whole, the game i feels hugely unoptimized. given the time since release. I guess since its a free game they are focused solely on money. Sad.

I couldn't play seriously like I could back playing 3/Reach. I can't be too off, seeing as the game doesn't have anywhere near the playerbase it should for a free game.

Another dev/publisher breaking ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't need to be messed with.

Got so engrossed i watched idk how many hours of this before I just bought it. I mean, 100+ hours just watching it.

Not a big fan of "walking sim" games, but the actor/actress portrayals got me hooked. Especially since I feel like Hollywood sleeps on Madds as an actor, while he's one of the best.

Beautiful story, great graphics. Look, the game is great enough that I do delivery work as a job, but I come home to play Last Amazon Prime Driver Standing. I'm probably the worst person you could get to write a review for because after 35 years of gaming, i'm fickle about what people over hype.

This wasn't an over hype.
