This game is great for some quick matches or if you have a hour to do nothing, hit this up, maybe even for 20 minutes.

There is quite a lot variation and you will never get bored.

The visuals are pretty good and the gameplay is rather easy.

It is easy to adjust to the different gamemodes and they are pretty fun. Before you know it you've been through several matches and forgot to have some dinner.

Only con that there really is, is the community. From all the matches I have been in so far I haven't met a single person that either wasn't giving me free russian lectures or peoples who kick you if you're new. It is really hard to make a start when you play a team mode based game. You won't get the chance to learn the basic mechanics because peoples like to kick players that are new (even if the first round haven't finished).

If you have to patience to get through the community, which is rotten to the core, you might find yourself some cash from the free loot you can get and of course some joy.

The vote kick thing is good, I just hate it that peoples abuse it to get rid of newbies like me. Without practice you'll never get experience. But some dense ignorant mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ players don't posses the basic knowledge of understanding that someone doesn't know how something works when he never learned it.

I will keep on playing it since I bought it anyway, but if you are a solo player like me without friends that play this aswell and you don't have patience or hate being kicked for no reason, don't start. If you can ignore this somehow or have friends to play with, you'll have a pretty damn good time.

In the time I have in this, I have honestly seen almost all maps and mastered being the hunter thing and the guy with the lantern.. I have also noticed that the counter has stopped on their site and in game there are less and less players..... hope they will add something more innovative in the future.

As of now I have to call this game a ripoff and I am truelly dissappointed. It seemed interesting but it is exact the same over and over again. Just a different environment so now and then.

If this game gets below 2 bucks it MIGHT be worth buying it then, but as of now I don't recommend it, at least not for this price.

Also after the life counter hits zero the game will be unavailable and a new thing will happen or so.. but at this rate, I don't think it will ever lose more than 1% of the total lives remaining.

If the devs ever read this, it can be good this game, perhaps with different game modes, or more type of enemies. Maybe give the guy with the lantern some tool that makes him either more agile or aggresive towards the enemy, but balance it out. Maybe a type of enemy that is fast but has low health against light and one that is slow but high health against light or something like that, think out of the box. This is kinda like Evolve, but just the core concept (that is as of now, might change later and I will adjust my review properly if that happens).

EDIT:
1 and a half year later since my initial review and the devs have done nothing. If anything they led a community down with something that could've been good. Such a waste. I hope it will get removed from the steam store.

EDIT 2:
Literally 2 years, 2 months and 5 days later, this garbage is still on steam while this game was abondened by the devs, community (mostly) and ghosts.

This game.. oh my. I pre-ordered it after seeing the movie and trailer of this game.

And I shall tell you one thing! I was definitely not disappointed!

This game.. the graphics are insane, runs smoothly (on launch date!!!) and has great immersive gameplay. If only other games could take an example of this.. and take the notice that it is possible to publish and deliver a complete working product...

Now I haven't spend much time in game yet, but the controls are really easy and well mapped. You can change them if you want to, which makes it extremely user friendly. The tutorial was quite clear even though it was unneeded. I think for those who don't game too often this will be pretty easy to understand thanks to the clear tutorial.

The audio is superb. Ambient sounds, pumped up music for action and very clean sfx. If I had more spare time I would probably no life this.

So far I haven't found anything that breaks the fun of the game, no glitches just some minor bugs at some ragdolls.

In all honesty I think this is the cleanest launch I've ever seen for a game!

9/10 needs more explosions and maybe nukes.

So after a year I decided to play this game again, nothing much has changed since back then.

The graphics are outstanding as always and so is the gameplay. Assemble your robot and launch your attacks against the enemies. Play with strategies or just go for the kill. I have 2 videos, one is team deathmatch and the other capture the batteries. There is also a third game mode, plant the bomb, I will post a video about it on here some other day.

In both I was talking through skype with my mate so we played it organized.

Unless you squad the teams are pretty balanced! Which is hard to find in any other pvp based game out there. You don't get matched with or against players that are more than 1 rank higher or lower, unless you squad ofcourse.

Being in a squad brings a lot oppertunities and dissadvantages. You know your mate that he won't mess up and it's easy to talk to (no russian language or an other which you dont understand) and you can use certain tactics to win. HOWEVER you can also get matched up against players ranked higher than both of you. Especially if the gap between you and your mates robot rank is big. So keep this in mind.

Now the question might arise, what is this rank that I keep blabbering about? It outputs the strength and agileness of your robot in a simple number ranging from 1-10. Keep in mind that the differences are HUGE. A rank 3 robot can kill a rank 1 robot in 1 hit. A rank 5 can do the same to a rank 3 etc. Ofcourse this isn't always the case, but that are the differences. So yes the games are very balanced.

For once this game isn't pay to win, you can pay for buffs or you can earn them ingame with the special buyable currency known as sparks. They are easy to collect or pay like 1 buck per 100 sparks. This brings buffs such as more xp for your character or double golds from games or 3 way squads. Or you can buy cosmetic stuff, shortly said, the gameplay does not get ruined by peoples with a lot money.

If you have watched the short videos you will have a rough idea by now about what the game is. I highly recommend you to at least give it a try. The tutorial pretty much covers the basic gameplay and play 1-2 rounds online. Most of the players (that speak english) are very kind and will help you rightaway if you're stuck with something. A good community for once in an online game!

The game is free to play, but those game are 9/10 times better than the game for which you pay 20+ bucks.

The sound effects are also superb. With a surround system you can hear where your enemy is walking and act according to their position. For example you don't move and flank them when they get close.

Visual, graphical, gameplay and community wise I give this game a well deserved 9. There are some minor buggs but they won't ruin your gameplay unless you have invested 50+ hours. Then you might be able to spot the first bug ;)

Oh also they have easter eggs in the game! Found a dutch add in the garage.. after owing the game for a year or so...

Short story about my struggles and events in xenoverse:
So my friend and I both planned to farm dragon balls, to unlock all characters for the achievement.
After grinding the same mission over and over again for like 100 times (if not more) I managed to get my very first 7 dragon balls.
Me and my mate grew apart in xenoverse and I was left behind for grinding the remaining total of 14 dragon balls (2x shenron).
I decided after a week to give it a shot. Managed to get 7 dragonballs in 10 missions.
So as of today I only need 3 more dragonballs for the last character, but I guess Shenron ran out of balls. Stopped counting after 50 missions of how long it'd take to get one ball again.

On the overall the community is pretty messed up with it comes to pvp. You win, they leave, you gain nothing. You lose, you lose rating. Players for doing missions together are so far pretty cool! Their mic can be so now and then in the middle of a hurricane, but other than that you can depend on them.

The AI for your team when you play offline is crap compared to the enemy AI. But as a player you are pretty strong and fastly responding so it gets balanced out.

The story itself is pretty amazing! Truelly loved it, reliving all those past events and ending with an epic climax.

This game will easily get you 50+ hours if you want to complete everything.

I am at 60+ hours and I have only finished the main quest and the PQ's. still got like 40% left to do for a 100% completioning rate. So it is worth the buck! And it is a lot fun to play with friends.

Do I recommend this game? Yes definitely for those new to space action games (like myself) and for those who got a lot experience. It can be really fun and intense. You can play with your teammates or alone as the maps aren't that big. However teamwork is important in winning fast though. Just try the game when it is free and wreck some ships, all you can lose is some time that would've been spend in searching for other games anyway ;)



So... before I start my review I want to give a big shoutout to this early acces game which is in alpha state for the following: a free 2 play weekend with the following, activate your account (just kinda play a match) and you will have the game for free. In other words you get a free product for participating in a TEST! This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2015 where players have to pay to test a product but Edge Case Games knows how valuable testers can be to your final product.

The free weekend is actually what got me into this game ^_^



Review:
Now I haven't spend many hours yet into this game but I will spend a lot more, because it is a very nice game. The graphics are neat, I can play everything at max settings (1080p) without the slightest performance drop in large battles.

The ships are a bit customizeable and you can choose in which you want your ship excell (for example blink distance over blink cooldown time).

It has a "skilltree" with at the moment 3 factions with each their own ships. To unlock a certain ship you'll have to spend a couple of battles in that corresponding faction.

The battle system is quite balanced as in the experienced players get with the newbies so it won't become pros vs noobs (haven't experienced it yet at least).So basically the teams have a fair chance at winning, because you can fight strong and weak opponents. There is also an assist counter which rewards funds and xp. A small con in this is that you can killsteal, meaning if you get the final hit you'll get the most points even if the other player did the remaining 99%, which can be frustrating!! But it is a minor thing for now.

The interface is very easy to understand. There is no tutorial or whatsoever (or I might've skipped it accidently..) that explains the mechanics but through a couple of minutes of trial and error you will understand the basics.

It is fairly easy to attain goods for your ship(s) to unlock further upgrades/ships.

Bugs:
I haven't encountered major buggs that wrecks your gameplay so far, the only annoying bug that I found is a sound bug, when you close the reward screen before the counter is finished you will have that sound until you get to the same interface again.
Joining some servers that are too far away causes the client to crash, but there are enough servers out there to play on. In my situation, I can't go on US servers but I can join any UK servers.

Summary:
So apart from the buggs and minor flaws this game is actually really dang good! But it is still in alpha so I won't critize every single small thing. The way they are heading is good, fingers crossed for a good finished product.

My good friend Louie found an interesting taiyaki and sold it to me for 500 pix. At the end of the day he was hungry and bought the same taiyaki for 2000 pix.

I think I understand how life works now.

Orcs with britisch accent, 10/10 especially when barfing/pooping.

I think I might like Loli Kingdom.
