Even if it doesnt live up to its predecessors name, Mafia 3 is, withouth doubt, an underrated open world game.

- Higly detailed world, probably one of the best ive ever seen.
- The characters are great, even the ones i disliked are well writen, Lincoln Clay is definetly one of my favorite main characters of open world games now.
- The people around the city felt like real people, some of them have long conversations you can listen to, some react to your actions (depends on the neighborhood too), some of them might even greet you. I really liked this in comparinson to other games like gta in which they feel just like a worthless npc.
- Music is an absolute 10/10
- The story isnt something out of this world, story about revenge trying to bring down everyone BUT the dialogues, missions and cutscenes will get you hooked up enough to keep going
- The gameplay is good, killing mobs, getting headshots, taking down dudes with your knife felt rewarding (beat it on hard)
- The driving felt "weird" at the beginning of the game but after i changed it to simulation mode and unlocking a car upgrade i ended up loving driving in this game.
- The weapons felt great, each one of them offers different experiences which makes you want to focus on your to-go combo
- The missions are kind of repetitive, but it doesnt feel like you are doing the same since all of them involves action and you decide if you want to go full stealth or killing spree mode.
- The first few missions makes you feel kind of lost since you dont know whats going on, and honestly this game has some not so easy to understand mechanics (at first) but once you get the grip of it youll end up pondering on your decisions.
- I encountered 3 bugs (couldnt talk to people) which i easily fixed by just reloading a checkpoint and 0 crashes, and glitches well, i honestly dont remember anything like clipping or something like that so anyone who says this game is unplayable shouldnt deserve to be playing on pc.
- The performance was fine its definetly no gta5 but still totally playable, played it on medium settings and everything still looked great, constant 60 fps on 1080p. Sometimes the game dropped to 55ish frames when i was surrounded by too many buildings but nothing too noticable/game breaking. (specs: 1060 3gb, i57600k, 16gbram, so its impossible to say this game is totally bad optimized)


I might be one of the few people who totally enjoyed this game, from start to finish, i couldnt stop playing it.
Its a no brainer to get the deluxe edition when it goes on sale if you like open world - full of action - good story games.

RULES OF NATURE

I have to write a review for the sake of this game and its current status on steam. I beat the game on hard difficulty on my first run, 0 crashes and took me around 8 hours (yes the game is somewhat short but the experience + replay value makes it up). I waited to play this game for so long and once it came out i saw tons of negative reviews, "buggy mess!, awful port!, the janitor ruined the experience!" the game might had a not so good launch but its all fixed as of now, but anyways, my dumbass decided to skip it despite me wanting it for a while. What a mistake.

- This is a great port, i had no issues at all and it looks & plays great for it being a mobile port, i used a ps4 controller which btw it has a good controller support. The models of the consumibles are really good looking (i enjoy this kind of stuff lol). The map, atmosphere and music are well crafted. The menu is fluid and intuitive with a decent language support (i tried playing it with korean VA but surprisingly, the english one is actually decent). The only downside is the AA (some jagged lines) but in the end, its something you wont notice at all.

- The story is intriguing (its korean horror, cant expect less). Theres a lot (and by a lot i mean A LOT) of replay value. Tons of collectibles, stories, decisions (which affects the endings) costumes (get them on sale, pretty cheap and some are decent). The puzzles are well implemented, easy but not so easy, id say the challenge is there but not too difficult for you to get stuck, also the puzzles have different answers in every different run, so rip googling (theres 1 puzzle i actually do recommend to search for, its a simple substraction but you need to understand chinese)

- This is a survival horror game, and you should understand that, why? because of almost every steam review mentioning "the janitor", which is basically a person who can hear you and kill you after a few hits, so why do so many people cry about it? idk, if they expect the devs to get rid of him or lower how smart he is, this game would turn into a walking simulator (hence the reason its a survival horror, he is the main threat of the game) Eventually you will understand how the AI works and enjoy the game even more.

So thats it i hope i covered everything without spoiling much, you should really not avoid this game because of all those crybabys that cant play properly a "survival horror" without getting fustrated. Legit skating game, the devs are working really hard on it. Once it goes out of early access its def gonna have a bright future.

Playing it on w10 and using a ds4. So no reason to listen to those bad reviews and just purchase it already!
