A short walking simulator that'll make you fell uneasy and paranoid. I won in 25 minutes and ran through again to find a few more anomalies, will probably fire it up a couple more times to try and see the remaining 16 it says I have left.
Many anomalies are so subtle as to feel unfair and many others are so obvious that missing them is impossible, so your first victory will likely be mostly luck, but they're all very creative and the subtle ones reward an attention to detail. $5 is an easy call so check it out unless you hate being spooked.

Couldn't believe my eyes when she walked through the door of my office. Piercing eyes, wings that could belong to the devil himself, and a chest that would never let me forget that bats are mammals too.

"Got a case for ya, darling."

Her voice was shrill, like it peaked just beyond the range of human hearing. She knew I didn't do this no more. She knew I was Way Past Retired.

"It's Sonic, someone finally did him in."

I almost crushed my glass with my bare hands, but kept my composure for the lady. Was I really going to do this? I hung up the Soap Shoes a long time ago. Was it really back to the grind for me? Sonic's dead and long cold, and I knew who did it. And they weren't gonna get away with it this time. One last case, then finally I can escape from the city.

Endless dopamine: a great sense of progression throughout runs, lots of stuff to unlock, cryptic secrets, and costs basically nothing

Just buy it

A very good little isometric-ish metroidvania with fairly challenging combat, excellent controls, and cute visuals. Getting 100% completion is very doable in 10-15 hours and the game never feels like it overstays its welcome. I wish there were harder optional bosses and more elaborate secrets to find but for the price it's a nice quick game that's very fun.

If you can get over an incredibly steep learning curve due to a total lack of in-game tutorials, a lack of signposting for what you should (or even CAN) be doing, and a whole lot of grinding to achieve what would be considered "endgame" level gear, you'll find a really compelling third person action shooter with great visuals, audio, tons of characters and weapons to play with and customize, and a wide variety of different missions.

The free-to-play model is quite friendly for the most part, with the major sticking points being additional inventory slots for frames and weapons being primarily obtained via the (tradable with other players) premium currency and annoying wait timers when crafting new items. It's very possible to play without paying a cent as you can't purchase power that isn't obtainable via playing the game with real money, and in the nearly 1000 hours I've played I've spent no more than $40 - more than enough to comfortably bypass any of the annoyances for probably another 1000.

New updates are often buggy but over the years the game has seen the addition of new open worlds, new systems, an entire game mode involving captaining your own space ship, new frames, weapons, etc, with no end in sight for more.

If you're willing to devote several (dozen) hours to reading wikis and watching Youtube tutorials so that you can have a fun flashy space ninja Diablo-like looty game, go for it.
