I personally did not really enjoy this game. While the art and music is competently made, the controls feel very sluggish and you stop caring about the game before the halfway mark in what is already a very short game.

Even though this is a point and click game, getting anything done is painfully slow to the point where my hand was getting tired. You will hold and drag for most of this 2-hour experience, often doing the same puzzle multiple times in a row. You may figure out that you need to feed someone a carrot. Slowly pull it out of the ground, give it to your character, drag your character to where he needs to stand, then drag your carrot to the bunny. Great, now do that 2 more times, then walk for a while, and feed some new ones.
This is how most puzzles work, do the thing, many times in a row. In one part, you have to do the thing you need to do over 10 times in a row after you already figured it out. It is not fun.
Dragging items in this game is also so painful to do. You drag and drag and drag only for minimal changes to happen. Some puzzles had me drag an item for so long I thought it was bugged. I kept dragging the mouse, but the thing I needed to move only moved a centimetre at the time. You should not have to drag your mouse multiple times your screen length to open something up, especially when you have to do it many times in a row.

The reason anyone would want to play this game, has to be for the art. The disturbing art is well made, and is very interesting. While it was fairly obvious from the start this would be an edgy game, I think it lost its flavor about halfway through. Yes, everything will flash red, and you will lose your toy or whatever. It's cool the first 10 times, but after that it gets kinda boring. It rarely changed things up, just going for edgy after edgy, but when everything is edgy, nothing is. You may think the game has some fun edgy tricks at first, but you're only going to get impressed so many times before it gets old.
The game should have changed up the pace more, like it does during the football segment.

Idk man, overall the gameplay is lame, the art is cool, but the execution is not the best. It tried to make itself seem more disturbing by spam-flashing red every time you do anything. I don't struggle with epilepsy or anything like that, but it got annoying.

That said, I did finish this game, I can see that the devs have put in effort, so I will not be refunding it. There is talent here, hoping for something more genuinely disturbing next time.

Very good. Stop reading reviews, don't spoil the experience. Just enjoy a nice game where you talk, walk and sometimes shoot a bow. The storytelling is incredible.

This game has incredible world building, fun combat and an intriguing story.

Now, I am aware that the game is unfinished. What is there is super good, so instead of complaining about what hasn't been added yet, I will just make a wishlist:
* More landmarks in areas, especially inside areas so they are easier to navigate without using the map.
* More varied areas. I understand the world is a wasteland, but often that is just what you get. A lot of sand and flesh. I think what I really want is a colorpalette change every now and again.
* More impactful speccing. Speccing often just gives you a stat-boost and nothing else. There are some exceptions, but generally I wish upgrading a stat meant more. I am sure more is planned here, seeing as some stats are seemingly not in use yet.
*Melee weapon rework. Most of the melee weapons are very samey. You go from the large sledgehammer to the claws to the sword and the only real difference you notice is the swing speed. I am guessing there is some differences in range, but not that I noticed during my playthrough.
*Stealth rework. If you upgrade stealth you can often just walk past anyone and everything with little to no thought. It is very hard to get noticed unless there are many enemies staring you down.
*Shield should be separated from secondary weapon. Having a parry is cool, but I found it was not worth giving up ranged attacks for it, especially considering rolls gets the job done and has very little recovery time, and can help you move closer to ranged enemies. It would be fun if I could have a parry and a ranged weapon.
*More clear map. I often found myself wandering around cities looking for a specific building for minutes at the time. It would be cool if the map marked important buildings you discovered, or at least let you put down markers.

Other than that, I just wanna see more. More locations, more enemies, more weapons, more story. So far the game is incredible, and when my main complaint is that there isn't enough, you are doing something right. Can't wait to see what the future holds.

Movement is power

Boomerang X is an incredibly fun game to control. You can dash through the air without ever having to land, perform combos to unlock special moves, and kill waves upon waves of enemies, most of which die in one hit. The devs have done a fantastic job polishing the core gameplay. Everything you do is consistently satisfying. The way you follow the boomerang, the way you recall it, the way special moves can be aimed to instantly kill enemies with multiple weakpoints, it's all fantastic.

That said, the game is not without issues. Movement is power, and you have ALL of it. While this is incredibly fun, enemies don't really feel threatening. Enemies usually slowly float towards you, chill on the ground where they can't reach you, or they just walk around doing their own thing hoping you will fly into it.

Enemies don't really work together, they just exist together in the same space, with the exception of the enemy that creates a shield around other enemies. To compare this with a shooter, you may have one enemy with a sniper, shooting you if you are within their line of sight for long enough, another enemy that shoot gas bombs in your proximity denying you area, and another enemy chasing you down at high speeds. Any one of these are not threatening alone, but together they create a hard to deal with situation.

While there are enemies that do different things, such as an enemy summoning explosives, they just slowly float towards you, they are never a threat. There is a frog that shoots goop, but it's rarely towards you, and usually the arena you fight in is so large it has no chance of reaching you. The large areas in this game, while they are incredibly fun to move around in, makes it very hard for enemies to reach you. Even if enemies reach you, you have so much health you are rarely in danger, and if you happen to get hurt, there's plenty of health scattered everywhere. In my playthrough, I only died once and that was to the stage I was in, and not the enemies.

The game is at its best when you get cornered and have to think quickly. I especially remember one room where a giant sawblade is summoned, goes up and down covering almost the entire area, and you have to dodge it in order to kill it along with swarms of enemies hunting you. The quick and powerful movement can create for some incredibly satisfying gameplay, and I think with some more enemy variety and enemies that are able to keep up with you, this game can go from good to fantastic.

I recommend this game, but it comes with an "but". I recommend it to you if you want to experience the insanely good movement, but you are prepared to quickly roll over anything in your way with little challenge. Or if you like speedruns

Incredibly fun roguelite where you play with the players who died before you. Race through temples while dodging traps and guardians, collect coins to upgrade yourself during a run. Get relics to bless your whips permanently (unless you die with it whoops) to get rid of each whip's curse.

A lot of replayability, great music, grappling hook whip. An instant banger made by a small, super friendly team

A tightly packed puzzle game that takes place in just one long corridor, that changes depending on the puzzle at hand. Short and sweet, with a lot of attention to detail. If you are into walking simulators with some horror elements, you will enjoy this. Takes about an hour to complete.
