Great idea, but filled with quite a few bugs. The most annoying is the audio bug where the game audio will completely turn off randomly, and won't come back until you restart the game. It's been reported several times from several people but so far they have not acknowledged it.
The dev team's refusal to correct the zoomed out display is really odd. The view is zoomed in too far to see what is happening around you, and many spells will have ranges far outside of that view. When you try to zoom out, it only goes out a little bit, and lays a fog layer over the entire screen so you can't actually see what is happening. This is something that people complained about during development and since release, and the dev response was they didn't want people to play in that view, and something about 'meta-gaming'. This is a board game, you should be able to see the entire board at once. All of the information is available at default view if you manually scroll around the board, so this makes no sense.. keeping this UI limit in place only serves to irritate some players. There is absolutely no meta-gaming that can happen from changing this, because any player can see everything on the board if they manually scroll the map.

Very fun baseball game, reminds me of the old Baseball Stars game, but more advanced. The Ego system allows you to put the AI skill where you want it, and it can play very well.

External launcher patch fails with "Unexpected Error". Reports from forums shows many people having the same issue. When the error is reported the dev just says 'send us screenshot or dxdiag' and doesn't even say where to send it.

Looks like it could be a fun game, but the launcher doesn't work and it doesn't appear they care much about it.

This game is amazing! Much more fun than I expected and well worth the $20.

Currently (day after release) there are some issues with matchmaking but it is working for some, and I anticipate the team resolving this. That said, the AI is surprisingly good, even on the Pro level (2nd of 3 difficulty settings).

Words cannot describe the feeling of getting a well executed air boost spinning shot into the goal, or racing downfield to make a save at the last second. The game is exciting and tense, and rewards skill.

Early Access Review
This game is awesome - similar in ways to the Mage Wars board game and the Heroes of Might and Magic series.

It took some time to adjust to the system of binary health; units are either alive or dead, there is no health bars, healing, etc. Games can end suddenly if you get your mage into a bad position, so you must be aware not to do that! Sometimes the luck of the dice can create a swing but player skill is the most important ingrediant.

For early access the game is in great shape. In about 4.5 hours of play I haven't encountered a single bug or crash. Currently in the game we have one off battles against AI and ranked PvP with either a round timer or asynchronous options. There is a third party website that run tournaments and competitions as well.

Almost eight hours in and so far I love the game. I've only been focusing on the main storyline a little, and my game progress shows me at 9%. There is plenty to do here, such as clearing out potential safe areas, gathering resources to craft better equipment (which will deteriorate), and I've been having fun finding new ways to kill zombies. My zombie kill of the week was a running dropkick to stagger a zombie back into a puddle of water that I electrified by a using a nearby downed power line.

I have a modest PC and the game runs fine. I'm on default settings other than turning the view distance up about 80% and I get around 40 FPS average. I've not seen any of the hitches or pauses, so my guess is there are certain configurations that aren't getting along with the game.

This game ROCKS!
I'm glad to see this new version, I loved the original but hardly anyone played online anymore since it's been out for so long. They have made some nice changes here, but the core mechanics remains. New mission types, ability to highly customize your random battlefields, larger battlefields, pre-set arenas, so much more.
FS can be really race inducing sometimes, and you can get wrapped up in editing your plans until you grow old if you let yourself. But the cat and mouse and mind games are hard to beat.

I don't really get the complaints about it being a Vita port. If it wasn't known that a previous version existed you would never know.. it doesn't affect the game at all. Controls not being remappable is an odd miss, but again it doesn't affect the game. There are only a few keyboard shortcuts anyway, and the game is fully playable with the mouse if for some reason you can't deal with the default binds.

Really fun and at a great price. A bit difficult on first play but the push to get a little further each game keeps you coming back.
