Early Access Review
Jonathan definitely needs a bit more time with this one in the kitchen, mans a good chef but this one should've spent a bit more time in the oven... and without involvement from "streamers", "content creators" or "cringefluencers". Right now this is a "Path of Dark Souls 2" game, which if YOU are into, great, but as it stands, this is not a path of exile game:

1) no movement skills
2) no early game crafting
2.1) no potion, wand/weapon, ring recipes, it all just goes to gold
3) there isnt enough loot to actually properly disenchant into currency
4) because this is a souls like game all the skills have really long animations
5) i've yet to see an orb of alchemy or chaos but have 2 exalts...
6) the bosess are just dark souls bosses
7) cant over level/gear because the skill gems dont gain exp anymore

TL:DR the difficulty is quite bad, not a lot of skill tree/character guides out yet so i cant really progress with my dog tamer scuffed build and i cant do the POE1 strat of just grinding currency/using the crafting bench/vendor recipes to work around my skill issue

DO NOT BUY until they fix matchmaking to exclude console players from PC matchmaking or until they remove the aimbot they gave to controller users. Either way, this game is not worth £60, £10 is pushing it

Got to give Activision props for the way they dealt with the fact that console players would've been at a great disadvantage against PC players. What they did you ask? well they enabled aimbot for controllers, gave the console players the ability to not play with PC players but forgot to add that to the PC game, remember how in warzone 1 you had fights that lasted more than 2 seconds, could've utilised the self-res and killstreaks? Well in this if a console player sees you they press their left and right trigger and the game literally does the rest - watch any YT video from console POV to confirm for yourself - they have no recoil, no weapon movement, its literally a point and click adventure for consoles, against people who have to use actual skill to control the recoil and crosshair position

At the current time (August 2020) i would not recommend this game. It has far more drawbacks than positives.

Negatives:
-Pirates (which can thankfully be disabled) glitch out, duplicate and are overall more OP than the player will ever be.
-The grind to gather resources and blueprints is insane (this is coming from someone who loves games with a lot of grinding)
-Speaking of blueprints: Army of the dead will often go back underground for unknown reasons (they do that even when agroed)
-A lot of the game mechanics are not explained (the game plays very similarly to ARK though)
-The wiki is basically useless
-As in ARK, the player is useless without taming animals and has to use "dodgy" mechanics to tame (tame pens, sign boards etc)
-Due to the terrain (rocks, foliage etc) the animals you tame (and NPC crewmen) will get stuck somewhere behind you before you notice.
-In non dedicated hosting mode the people that join you are locked to a relatively small radius around you and when you or they move to the edge of that radius they get dragged back towards you (which could be used as a funny way to kill your friends)
-Uses more system resources than an actual triple A game with much better graphics.
-As far as i know its not possible to have a fleet of ships with AI commanding them to support you - meaning you either need other real people (actual dedicated server) or you are stuck with using one ship at the time. This one particularly sucks when gathering a large number of resources in far away lands
-As far as i know there's only 1 way to improve your items even though some weapons have "Attachment" attribute and i've yet to find a blueprint that provides a weapon with an attachment.
-Devs are focusing on adding new useless features (like the warehouse and tax building) rather than actually fixing the game and making it more playable.

Not negative and not Positive:

~Weather effects are extreme (tornadoes spawn right infront and around you meaning its hard to plan a route to avoid them when one spawns while you're in another one)
~Lot of variety in islands but the resources you can get from them are basically "region" locked (in the current version of the game)

Positives:
+The building mechanics are pretty neat, i personally like making massive bases
+The UI looks like garbage and feels like it but usually does a pretty good job at what is necessary
+Commanding massive boats
+Item power can be increased by the blueprint quality system (although as pointed out in the negatives section, you will never be as powerful as AI pirates)

TL:DR:
The game looks good, runs like crap, is as buggy as ARK when it was initially released and the devs are focusing on useless stuff. Cant wait for them to release a DLC for money before the game comes out of early access... like they did with ARK :WeirdChamp:

If the game is on sale for about 7 quid then its a good purchase, at its normal price its a legitimate scam and a waste of money. Big developers don't seem to understand what the early access system is for... anyway, DO NOT BUY.

Ugh....
Hey guys its me Jessica and today i will review this game... side note - this will forever be my favorite game, there's very little that will change that, even though the business model literally ruined it for everyone(even top credit card users).

Short intro - I've played this game since the open beta in 2014 and god, this game was literally what i was looking for in a game, massive world, good crafting, lifeskills(if you chop down a tree, if it was one of the ones you could, it actually fell down), massive potential for making money in ways other than killing mobs.

Pro's:
+Huge OPEN world(no stupid invisible walls, no loading screens, thank god because those are stupid, even WOW solved that many years ago)
+Pretty neat lifeskills(which can take a long time/$$$ to level up to max)
+Item regrading is pretty intense(a lot of you will probably put this in the negative bits but i personally like it, the only negative is that its possible to funnel real money in to regrade items so ....)
+Actually good combat(its just gear dependant too much)
+You can build and own a house/farm(more on that in negatives)

Mixed:
~Gear dependency(without pink/yellow grade hasla gear or better you will struggle to solo pve in the 3.0 area)
~Can run a bit poorly on medium tier pc's(fx8350 gtx980)

Negative:
-As with every f2p mmo, the community can literally be more toxic than industrial toxic waste from oil refining
-Insanely p2w, it always was but at first we thought that the level of it might be dropped.... it wasnt, it was made worse as the time went
-You can own land and build a farm/house its just that for some stupid reason they didnt make instanced housing areas like in LOTRO or other mmo's they put the land on the actual map, meaning that 2 days after the server launched there is literally no space and you literally lose money, it took same amount of time for the 3.0 area)
-As above, if you cant get a bit of land there is technically no point in coming back/starting, you can try chopping down free trees and mining the free veins but there are other people that will be doing that.
-All actions take energy-opening purses, mining, chopping down trees, animal husbandry, farming, building etc and it costs money to replenish(either $$$ potions or patron AKA subscription)
-Once you get to top level the content is pretty lacking either pvp or farm money to regrade, thats it.

Overall unless they changed the business model( HYPERLUL ) there is no reason to download this, you'll find it amazing untill you realise that the game has likely less than 700 active steam users at this moment and that you will need to funnel a lot of money in to get anywhere where you can enjoy yourself. It is extremely SAD because this game had a lot of potential but trion worlds had to ruin it.
Have a great day

Worst game i have played in my life, how do you even aim down sight in this? i mean its not that hard look at cod or bf, they can do it so why cant volvo do it? and where is the levelution? i mean all we get from this game is some angry eastern europeans that think they can play this but then it turns out they cant.
