Without a doubt, this is a HOG. An remarkably mediocre one at that. There are better looking ones from even smaller companies for free so I'm not quite sure who their target audience is for this one.

The HO scenes were just a cobble of stockphoto and 3D items repeated throughout each location. They really tested patience on the concept of "hidden", as if they actually didn't want you to find it. The items are labeled quite poorly, which I imagine someone who is ESL would struggle discerning objects.

I also echo the sentiment of having multiple props of the same 'word' but only one is correct. A very strange choice if you ask me.

But hey, is it a broken game? No.
Can you finish it? Yes.
Would you buy this with money? ...A resounding no unless it cost less than a handful of pennies.

A rightful disappointment after multiple entertaining point and click games of the same title. Why would they put this on Steam?

I'd say this one is more of play at your own risk. So mostly neutral, it's playable and you can finish it. A stocking stuffer to the adventure game enthusiast.

Luckily, old as it is, I personally didn't experience any game-breaking bugs. I did encounter only in one section, the part people said that the dialogue seemed to cut off towards the end but perhaps closing and opening the game fixed it for me? But it only ever happened in one section and not for very long. There are the occasional funny glitches where the 3D models t-posed/froze up and reset their positions as the game loaded out of cutscenes.

The worst part of this game by far is the lack of direction. Unless you're a fan of, as Sylvie puts it, "trial and error" you will spend a large portion of the game doing guesswork as the game doesn't provide enough context for how to solve a puzzle or how to progress. The hint system only serves to display areas of interaction but nothing else. The notebook serves to record dialogue you may have missed but it does not jot down any other important information or leave any clues. You can logic your way through the best of your abilities with this game for the most part, but there are moments that can leave you stumped as you've just about exhausted all your options with the exception of the uncanny. I recommend that you practice the art of frequently going through your inventory and combining everything on everything.

That said, I will always have a large appreciation for the era of prerendered backgrounds and this one did have some pleasing areas. Overall, the story was fine although it teetered to the phantasmic towards the end, which isn't quite my cup of tea though I had played Scorpio (first game) a long time ago, maybe it has always been this type of adventure and I had rudely forgotten about it.

Delightful little game. I will echo the sentiment that if you have difficulty starting this game on Win11, there is a guide on Steam that was able to help me overcome that predicament. After which, my experience of the game was exceptionally smooth engine-wise.

Loved this game, it fills me with nostalgic joy of the old darker but adventurous tales of video games yore. Unfortunately, it did come with some minor bothers. I wouldn't say I were able to play this game completely without guidance. There were certain actions that were not prompt by the game itself, leaving you quite puzzled on what to do next to progress the chapter. Mostly revolving around the use of your phone. You use it more frequently that you'd think and you wouldn't know when sometimes. Besides that, the puzzles were quite the mix of good ol' logic and occasionally, there was some big braining involved there that requires you to just about bash every option until something works hahaha. But what is an old adventure game without rubbing all your inventory against an interactive location. :P

You'd adore the graphics of this game if you're a huge fan of prerendered backgrounds. They're so stunning, much nicer than the preview screenshots the store page has set up. A pleasant surprise. There were a lot of locations that were hardly utilized, their only purpose is as if to make the world seem bigger than it is, but hey, I like prerendered backgrounds so I appreciate the extra flavors.

I also enjoyed the usage of real life locations and information, definitely a Jane Jensen production if I've ever heard one. Felt like I had a glimpse of what it'd be like to tour around the town.

I'll reiterate that I didn't really encounter any bugs in my experience. I can't vouch for anyone else. All the puzzles functioned as intended and nothing caused the game to crash or lock me in.

The magic feature is like a fun test of literacy and not so much a puzzle but it certainly added some interactive-ness to the game.

That said, go play the game! It's a fun experience that hopefully won't take you long, I'd say about 6 hours. Don't look at my hours, my mind likes to wander between gameplay. Not because it was boring or anything, just have a life LMAO!

I only marked it as positive because well, it's playable. Nothing really breaks and normally that's all you'd ask for from a HOG. With these kinds of games, you can get picky with since there's a dime a dozen for 'em. If you're craving for a really quick play just to pass time, this'll do. The puzzles don't pose any real challenge that would cause frustration.

There are hints and fast travel options and the story is relatively braindead so you won't be bogged down by it. That said, I have to parrot the others in saying "Avocado" is a Kiwi fruit. Trust me, it'll save you the time.

I would heavily advise against it, even when I played the game using a fix, it wasn't worth it at all. The HOGs are all over the place, as if they wanted to extend your time by resetting the puzzles if you can't find everything fast enough. Some objects are so horribly hidden, you would strain your eyes to locate anything. The objects in the HOGs are generic stock photo images. The backgrounds and assets are just recycled parts from the actual Art of Murder games.

There are so many other games worth your money-- the original Point and Click series itself Art of Murder is actually pretty fun and interesting. Just avoid this one, it even has a trojan with it.

Pretty simple, standard HOG! Good for people who don't want too much narrative in their puzzle games. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to get done. A lot of the story doesn't take long to get through before you progress to the next parts. Quite frankly, you wouldn't even realized too much that there's an ongoing plot happening.

There's a lovely useful map where you can fast travel and figure out which areas still need interaction, something I always appreciate and sorely missing if it's lacking. The puzzle difficult ranges from easy to moderate. It's a good start for someone who likes to be casual with their problem solving.

The graphics are pretty okay. Some HO scenes look really nice and some look really wonky. There's more nice looking ones than there are wonky ones so that's always a plus.

All in all, pretty good for what it is! Nothing broken, nothing missing. It takes a few hours of your time off, nothing particularly annoying though nothing particularly note-worthy either.

This one is an absolute treat, I was pleasantly surprised by how high the "quality" of this game is. From the graphics to the story, it was all pretty great compared to most other HOGs I've played. I'd say it rivals a whole lot of what AM puts out.

First off, the art is really gorgeous and a lot of the puzzles were very beautiful, the HOG scenes too. I really loved how interactive the locations are, with some easter egg clicks and lots of animated objects. Although beautiful, be warned all the animation and clickable bits may make item/spot-hunting a wee bit frustrating when you see your cursor change.

The story's twists were super fun, I enjoyed the intrigue from beginning to end. There were a variety of ways to show the narrative, from slides, to scrolls, to little notes. I loved it, there was so much to do. I really like the dialogue, no janky lines. The plot was precise and very interesting especially towards the end. Very, very cute.

The game itself has some built in achievements, with 4 different collectables to pore over, you won't run out of using your eyes and gleaning at everything. Most of the puzzles range from easy to intermediate, I don't think I found myself particularly stuck in any so thank god for that.
The map has an indicator for if you need to do something, and of course, a quick travel system. The image for the map itself is really high tier too so kudos to the creators.

No bugs, glitches, errors, or issues (maybe typos) so at the very least it's absolutely playable.

Finally, you get to have a cute little pet you can name, haha.

A lovely short story-adventure game! The puzzles were not difficult at all as long as you're very thorough, and this would not be considered a platformer despite being a side-scroll. I'd say the movement is akin to Detention and Oxenfree, which both fall in the same story driven-adventure category. There's a bit of gore to it though, albeit cartoony, if you find yourself excessively squeamish then you might have to do a bit more reviewing before purchase.

It's about an hour and a half gameplay, if you're a completionist. The 5 hours on my time is from me doing other things by the by. It's definitely a game to play for a single afternoon sitting. The price point I'd say is pretty worth it, even more while it's on sale.

This was a wonderful little treat to anyone trying their hand at understanding the concept of an ARG. The puzzles were more or less similar but it gets you into the swing of practicing how to solve puzzles using context clues and community discussion.

This is for the people out there who just want to do a lot of hidden object scenes with a little bit of story. There's only like 5 mini-games. I recommend getting it in a bundle instead of paying full price though, the quality is pretty outdated and the HO scenes aren't particularly easy on the eyes. There are a bunch of items that threw me for a loop so you might find yourself smacking your face in frustration.

If you're looking for something to waste your time on while waiting for other more entertaining things, this will keep you occupied. It's also good for friends who mostly enjoy "i-spy" aspects and care very little about them as a game.
