As with most idler games you can go the active or passive route, although it still requires some active time, and your first round will get you about 900 achievements which take you about 2-3 months.
However if you want to 100% this game it will take you a long time to get the remaining achievements, because on your first rebirth with some perks it still takes a long time, and then you need to do a few more (which eventually gets faster).

Some things are also tedious, that even though i turne catch info off it still overlaps over my chests and seagulls, and there are some changes that could have been made, to make certain things easier, like with a rebirth not to show all the gems/eggs etc you can't get after a rebirth if you already have them, or have a 1 button click to buy all possible upgrade tiers.

It's not pay to win, you can play easily without spending money but as most idler games, it gets boring really fast. 5/10.

Well i was expecting a game with RPG elements like Reindeer Story, but that tag is misleading and false.
What you do get is a story about a snowman with magic can feel/hear stories from other snowmen that melted searching for paradise, it's more a story/novel game, great for a parent to play with their kid(s) especially around christmas time.
For me personally it got a bit boring after story number 6 or so, yeah we know another abandoned snowman.

Alongside some easy sliding puzzles, that's basically the whole game.

If you like stories/play this with your kid 8/10, if you don't, and are just an adult 6/10.

Another cheap easy indie platformer? Think again. Yes it is cheap, but you actually getting a fully challenging game for it.
Your goal is to jump on or through certain barriers that are only open or closed at a specific second and later on there are some small twists.

The difficulty in this game quickly ramps up, especially around level 20 (which i am at right now, so ignore my 1 hour playtime).
While there are over 100 levels in total, combined with the many achievements AND a level editor, you really getting your moneys worth with this.

An unexpected very long sized sokoban style game, in certain parts you can select if you want easy/medium/hard puzzles with all leading to the same exit eventually, even though it still feels best to just do them all. And it even includes some "bossfights".
Some of those harder puzzles are real brain teasers where for some they got so complicated i just used the hint function, but that's personal.

There isn't a very big story but it's enough for what's there and the bear is cute.

Also a very friendly and helpful developer, i hope to see a sequel in the future!

"Gameplay that combines the mechanics of a platformer and a visual novel".

What gameplay? What platform? You scroll through 12 or so screens as a story which you complete in 2 minutes, and the only interactive part is choosing the right garbage bin out of 3 and even that's just trial and error.
If you try level select you get a bunch of lock symbols implying there is more while there isn't.

Easy achievements that's for sure.

Easy short game but if you don't want to be left with broken achievements with no support since 2019, don't buy it.

Early Access Review
-Not 1 update.
-Not 1 reply on the forum from the dev for over a year.
-Not 1 new video on youtube for over 10 months.
-https://pumpkinygames.com/ is dead.

So very most likely this is another EA game that has been abandoned.

A pleasant surprise, when i read Shadowgate i just thought an adventure with many dead ends (torches) but surprisingly it isn't. If you die, you just go back before that.
On top of that it's also very lenghty, some puzzles are just going back and forth (especially in the second chapter, while some fast travel would have been handy).

While other puzzles are very obscure, and the item management leaves a bit to be desired on, when you keep on scrolling through 3 pages and 1 spell page (when you don't know really what they do) because you have a bunch of items that are just not of any revelance.

And then you run into events where logic doesn't really exist, like with the Deja Vu episode when you see a burglar and you can't hit it with any other weapon you have for some reason beside the baseball bat you find, and so it is with many enemies, a random guess.
There are a bunch of things that makes you feel it doesn't make any sense.

All in all, it's a very nice adventure game if you can get past the flaws, then it's a 8/10.
