The game is enjoyable, beautifully crafted and I do recommend you to play it. It can be a casual and fun experience going through the main story and some of the side quests.

However, where it fails to keep me engaged is the exploration. The world is huge, but as others stated it becomes quite repetitive and unrewarding. Merlin trials can help you with progression as they expand your gear slots, but other rewards just felt like filler stuff most of the times. They should have went with less but more engaging content.

For me character customization and the clothes felt very limited in style, I would have loved a bit more diversity on how I can dress my character. Most of the time she just looked dorky or funny with all the things I put on her, I wanted to feel and look like a bad-ass witch but I just couldn't really get anywhere close to that. On the positive side everything looked very in-universe, so that is a plus.

Choices also doesn't really matter, it is the same if you decide to engage in the dark arts, nobody really cares that you keep cursing everyone, I felt like that should have affected the story or the content in some way.

I also have to make an extremely important note, that you can pet the cats.

I just can't get over the fact that the store is gatcha based for unlockable content and it is incredibly unrewarding as the pool contains time limited rewards too. For a free currency ticket there is a chance you unlock something for a single day only. The store only contains paid content so your only option is this specific "lottery" for free players. The credit store just gives an error message so some players can't even buy the paid currency.

It is a well made game, with awesome characters and gameplay. What I feel the game is lacking however is unlockable free cosmetics/content. There is very little to nothing to play for. The currency you receive by playing allows you to unlock battle pass specific content, which is basically profile avatars and sprays unless you pay for the "luxury battle pass". You can convert a very little amount of this currency to a different kind which allows you to get cosmetics from the store. The UI is a bit messy, it took me some time to figure out where I can use the currency I was earning.

On the other hand, its very cool that you can play all the characters at start and you don't have to unlock them one by one.

The only reason why I am not recommending it, because for me it is lacking F2P unlockables and it got boring too fast.

I played Rocksmith 2014 and loved it, pick that up somewhere if you are going to learn Guitar or Bass and avoid this.

I absolutely despise Ubisoft on everything they keep doing. BUT before this came out I had hopes, I even bought a 1 year subscription on launch which costs you about 100$! I soon realized it was a terrible mistake as I lost interest in hours, the library was nowhere close to Rocksmith 2014, they didn't update for months and the songs they introduced just wasn't for me at all. There was no significant improvements over the old game, the only thing which was interesting is playing in tab mode.

Now the tipping point for me which solidified that I am never touching any Ubisoft product ever and that I will never support this greedy company is how they treat their customers. When I subbed they registered me 2 different subscriptions for Ubisoft+ and Rocksmith+ as this is how it was bundled. I cancelled the sub, but it only unsubbed me from Ubisoft+ which I did not notice, so the 2nd subscription kept going until 1 year later, out of nowhere it charged me 100$ again. I did what any other reasonable person would do and notified them IMMEDIATELY. After numerous exchanges their response defaulted to that their refund policy doesn't allow refunds on charges within a ongoing subscription. Bear in mind that I already spent 100$ on a complete year at this point, they could have easily refunded this charge to me, not to mention that I didn't touch the game for months. I was really furious how they handled this. ANY reputable company would have refunded this charge without any questions asked. But they decided that they keep me hostage for another 1 year and just don't care.
Do they think after this I will ever buy anything from them if I know how they treat their customers? The only thing which matters for this greedy corporation is to squeeze you out of every cent on the spot, it doesn't even matter to them if they lose you with their stupid actions. It shows that they don't care and don't know anything about customers too.

Ubisoft, I hope you go bankrupt, I am sorry for the people working for you.

It is a sweet rougelike experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the content and the vibes are just right. The story is fun and the colorful art style is pleasing. I was looking for a somewhat forgiving-cute experience and with the assist options they have I had a lot of fun with it. The base difficulty was not for me as it can get quite hard. I definitely see myself picking up this game later when I get bored.

Keep in mind that this is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler which has 4 main themed dungeons, each having a modified, more difficult version which slightly changes the theme as well, along with 2 story specific dungeons. It also has a challenge mode now. With the assist modes I was able to clear it in about 10 hours, but I am sure it takes longer to finish without it.

Book of Hours takes a pleasant new approach while remaining true to it's core mechanics from Cultists Simulator. If you played the previous game and got overwhelmed by the constant "do or die" experience, but still liked the core mechanics, then this will be a lot more enjoyable to you.

It is a fun game and it was a great experience back when it came out, but I believe the gameplay doesn't hold up in 2024. You are better buying a more recent Borderlands game.

At "The Caspian" level near the water fountain, the game just breaks and you can not proceed or go back from this part of the main quest apart from restarting the whole chapter and praying it won't happen again if you didn't have a save before entering this area (you only have 4 saves and they get overwritten quite frequently). I don't have the nerve for restarting the chapter after clearing all the side objectives for the region. If it weren't for this breaking bug I would recommend.
