I first played Slay the Spire in early 2018, just a month or two after it came out and I loved it. Since then, the idea of a deck-building roguelike has really taken off, and I have played dozens of them. In spite of their popularity, there are very very few games that have really nailed what makes the genre good: A variety of archetypes to build and draft decks around, along with important drafting decisions, economy management, and risk vs reward. Balatro is 100% one of those well-crafted few, which stands head and shoulders above most others, offering dozens of hours of deck-building fun.
