If you want to play this to get some background knowledge about Nier Automata, then don't do it.
Its not worth the 30+ hours you have to invest in it, just watch a video that summarizes the plot in 10 minutes or so.
From its dated rpg design, uninspired combat system, to its story which unfolds very slowly and leaves you with a lot of questions unanswered. The soundtrack which got the “Automata” polishe to it, still sounds great, yet being different to the original.
While it still does the Nier thing and is a very memorable tittle, it doesn't hold up with what its sequel has to offer. Save your money and safe your time.
