I'm giving it thumbs up because despite dota plus "avoid player" being a scam, I still enjoy playing this game immensely.

I originally gave this game a thumbs up review but after 8 years of playing this game I am giving it a thumbs down. I love Dota because there are endless variations and situations for games and the fact you have a wide selection of heroes to play, counter opponents, or synergize your team. HOWEVER, BIG HOWEVER, the community is TOXIC AF, I would say it has become more toxic than the CS community and I left the CS community for Dota because the CS community was so toxic. But that's not the reason I am giving it a thumbs down. Valve has decided to capitalize on this toxic community by offering a monthly subscription called Dota Plus. The reason I pay for Dota Plus is because of the "AVOID PLAYER" option in which at the end of the game you get some sort of comfort that you can permanently avoid a toxic player. However, today, 12/30/2019, I avoided a toxic player with a unique name, .MarkLien, after blocking his steam community profile and using the "AVOID PLAYER" option on Dota (which was only available because I paid for Dota Plus), I felt better for enduring the toxic game. Then later, about 2-3 games later, I queued in the same game with same guy again! I was even more distressed at the fact Valve was falsely charging players for a service they promised to provide but didn't. Honestly, I want ALL my Dota Plus subscription money back. Normally, when I've been wronged like this I can turn my back and never look back, but because I am so addicted to this game I don't think I can or even want to.
