What kind of nonsense is this! Sign up for a PlayStation account? This is only after Helldivers 2 became the 7th highest selling Sony game. Pretty obvious that is the reason for this push, Sony trying to boost PSN account numbers so it all looks good. Boost the numbers by millions!

Lock the game because people don't have a PSN account! I hope Valve lets us refund because of this. Change the TOS months later. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

EDIT: Worth reposting this!

Yeah i'm not linking my account to PSN.

Wow. Just wow. This game is amazing. When I started to play it, I thought it would be another survivor planet ala Subnautica, build with no real objective except move the story along. Boy was I wrong.

The game plays like Simearth. You start with a barren planet and terraform it. Doesn't happen fast or overnight, takes a bit of time. Meanwhile, you're constantly busy with building and upgrading, you realize the water levels have risen. The game progresses like this, keeping you busy but enjoying the process.

I didn't delve much into the story until I was completely finished with terraforming, which did afford me the chance to explore and be invested without worry. Made finding all the lore out way more fulfilling.

The game is a great game to relax and be creative with while the world changes around you. Just like real life.

When it was released in 1997 it quickly became apparent how TA was going to be THE genre defining game of the decade, going on to win Gamespot's Game of the Year award that same year.

Whether you choose to use lowly k-bots to rush their base, prefer a more elegant appraoch using stealth fighters, or prefer to build an entire line of Big Berthas to long range bomb them into submission there are multiple strategies to winning a battle.

Total Annihilation removes the resource gathering, micromanaging aspect of strategy games and instead focuses on combat. War materials are broken into two catagories of either metal or energy, both of which are harvested at a constant rate through each resource generation structure.

All in all, TA is my favorite strategy game of all time and I've played countless hundreds of hours blowing up my enemies and securing map domination.

Sweet jesus. Where do I begin? I love Total Annihilation. It was ground breaking, it was expansive, massive, immersive and challenging. I still play it frequently now.

This is not Total Annihilation. This is a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Riddled with bugs and problematic as hell, its difficult to find one aspect of the game that is fun or enjoyable. When you start of in the Galactic War campaign (single player campaign) you are handicapped from the word go. You only have available vehicles and if you want other forms of units, you have to find them. If you want to start with different units, you have to beat the Galactic War repeatedly. God forbid you leave a game early. It just deletes all progress you had. Not just that game, it deletes the progress you've made through the whole campaign. You'll have to start over at the beginning.

Taking it with a grain of salt, you start a new game. You get to a system where there are multiple planets. Again, you only have basic technology, but the opponents have access to everything, and they use it. You can't invade other planets if they are entrenched. Its borderline impossible. If you can even survive orbit, you won't survive on the ground. Or if you don't keep insane pressure on them early in the game, they will just run you over because they have better technology.

Did you like sea units? Because you can build them in PA! Except, the bodies of water on these abysmally small maps are more like puddles, a few units across. Sea units are a huge waste of time and effort. The maps are tiny, the units are stupid and slow.

Regardless of any of this, PA is a giant waste of time and a huge let down. Its frustrating and not well mapped out. Contains a handful of useless units. All in all, skip this title. Its ♥♥♥♥.
