Fixes every issue I had with DD1. While most really liked the meta game of DD1, I find it a bit grueling and didn't enjoy managing so many different teams. I like the focus on one team having to adapt to a myriad of situations and the change to a token based combat system feels MUCH superior to the old, more RNG focused one. Visuals also add a lot of nice flair and the newest update adds a bit of a "halfway" point between DD1 metagame and DD2 metagame. Also recommend all character dlcs, each have a lot of flavor and are very fun.

Really fun twist on the They are Billions formula but with extra factions to choose from and two heroes for each faction. Being able to play coop is really nice though it seems to need some additional balancing. The engine does seem to have some odd floatiness to it which is more pronounced in coop and makes micro a bit difficult but overall, very fun game.

Weird balance and super APM ai even on easier settings make it irritating rather than interesting.

Solid sequel. Only minor complaint is the AI art for the technology screens. It's mostly fine but the thumbnails of it on the overall research screen is a tad hard to read and figure out at a glance.

Otherwise, updated visuals, more distinct playstyles for each race, the orbital mechanics (which are not a gimmick but actually quite interesting and really change up the game), and nearly all of the content that Rebellion had, this is exactly what I wanted in a Sins sequel. Couple that with a big engine update that seems to never buckle even with hundreds of ships on screen, all shooting simultaneously, it makes great use of modern hardware. If only Supreme Commander would get this treatment.

With the promise of more ships and an expansion for a fourth race, this is an easy recommendation for those of us who played Sins 1 back it's release over 16 years ago.

Finally, PC gets one of the best PS exclusives. It's a personal favorite, the atmosphere of the open world and the combat is just excellent, played it through twice on PS. PC version feels like another excellent port in the same vein as most of the other recent PS ports.

EDIT: Well, can't believe I have to change this but a big part of purchasing this again on PC was for Legends which half of it is just straight up broken, you'll be stuck in "matchmaking" forever. And no, the game is not dead, it just doesn't work and so it's probably going to die here soon since nobody can get a survival game in even somewhat reliably. Will change back to positive if this is fixed, but for now an entire mode is just broken and there's no indication they will fix it.

Just putting another positive review out there to counter the hate mob and rabid dumbasses who couldn't read "PSN account required" when they purchased Helldivers 2. Keep pretending you were "fooled", you were just stupid, sorry.

While a bit light on "content" (biomes, enemies, weapon types, customization options, etc), it's VERY replayable as each weapon type has a lot of depth and variations to experiment with, many powers to find during runs, difficulties for each biome, etc. All done in the signature Klei style and charm (the third boss in particular I thought had a TON of personality and was super interesting to fight).

I'm still discovering new combos and haven't even touched the two ranged weapon types yet. For only $10, you already easily get your money's worth.

It's pretty much everything I wanted from a Dragon's Dogma 2. More vocations, bigger world, better visuals, but also a lot of the same systems and quirks that made the original quite charming. "Wolves hunt in packs Arisen!"

Performance issues for myself have not been terrible, just minor drops to 50 - 45 FPS in capital city, otherwise it's maintaining 60 (which I have it locked at) everywhere else with max settings and RT on, etc. Now this is WITH a 4090 and 13900k sooooo, the fact that's dipping to 45ish on this setup is certainly not ideal.

The microtransaction drama is made up reddit drama. Everyone knows Capcom sells "shortcuts" as "DLC", they did in DD1, they did it Monster Hunter, they're doing it here. You don't need any of it.

My only real complaint aside from the performance issues is that, currently, you cannot just "start a new game". It's limited to one save slot like DD1 but there simply is no "New Game" option which does feel like a very, very weird choice and Capcom has already announced they're considering changing that. If you want to start over like a new player, with nothing, you should be allowed to without having to delete cloud saves, delete local saves, etc.

Otherwise it maintains the same feel that I loved from the first game. No fast travel, dynamic combat, and tons of enemies means every adventure, even to a nearby town, can be dangerous and exciting. And should night fall, it's got that same dangerous atmosphere, the kind that makes you jump a mile when a Chimera jumps out of the pitch black at you.

One important point that even I didn't know going in; this isn't a "sequel" to the story in DD1, it's more of a parallel universe/retelling. So expect a lot of deja vu with locations and storylines early on. I don't really see this as a bad thing but if you are expecting a continuation of the story, you may be disappointed by that.

EDIT: About the PSN account - perhaps you should read what you're buying. You were not fooled, you chose not to read. It was there prior to release, you just couldn't be assed to read it. Get over yourself. Lmao.

Huge improvement over the original, the switch to 3rd person reminds me a lot of the switch Risk of Rain made and Helldivers 2 benefits from it even more.

Best coop game since Darktide released. It has server issues at the moment but that would be due to the viral popularity (peak players for HD1 was a little less than 7k...while this one has nearly 400k). So no, it's not like the devs could have seen this coming.

Game is great, if you can't handle some minor server issues then wait a few more weeks. Still a great game, enjoyed it immensely.

This was a surprise, after watching lots of FFA matches on youtube, I finally grabbed it on sale and wow, it's genuinely replaced AOE 3 as my favorite. All the civs are super unique and have lots of great mechanics, the visuals are very nice and help make it look like a proper city even if you aren't paying much attention at the time. The AI is quite a fun challenge for someone who doesn't play RTS competitively at all but just enjoys comp stomps that offer a slight challenge.

Highly recommend for anyone who likes RTS games from the 90s and early 2000s.
