Recenze předběžného přístupu
Although the game appears to be in its infancy, it's no doubt that it is the most beautiful Unity powered game, and while I'll admit that the third person vehicular combat doesn't make the RTS aspect any easier, I feel that the combining of a vehicular action game and an RTS renders this game the start of something great.

Gameplay
While the RTS would otherwise be standard fare, the piloting of your combat avatar (your hero unit) plays a crucial part as you would need to queue up a build order, fly to the desired energy node with your avatar and deploy the building to ensure control of energy node. To keep the player seated in their hero unit, infantry and vehicle production buildings are 100% automated. Take note that this really doesn't make the RTS aspect any easier, since you'll also need to turn the tide with your personal vehicle as well as build air units from your spawn point since you can't be everywhere at once. My main gripe is that the AI is nothing short of brutal even on easy (though i dunno if that has to do with my personal skill with RTS, so if anyone else owns this game, I'd like to know that it isn't just me.)

Graphics
Personally, I cannot help but note that everyone loves to hate Unity because of this aspect, but I'd like to think that i'm not lying when I say that this game looks gorgeous and I'd go as far as to say that it'll take a long time until Unity games look as good as this. My primary dislike in this regard is the lack of advanced visual options.

Other
Looking at both the gameplay and the graphics, you can imagine how surprised I am to realize that this is completely done by one person. While I believe that Shigeru Miyamoto's philosophy about rushing games applies to WARSHIFT, I'm hoping that the money I give to Cyril Megem will go towards eventually finding likeminded developers who will help with the completion of this product.

Suggestions
One thing which i think would help the game a lot is to give co-op players the ability to ping the host over the minimap and/or allow them to enter the RTS view. As it currently stands, there is no hotkey to signal the host whenever co-op players free up power supplies.

Yes, the port is still terrible, but if you've played the original game on the Gamecube, you'll probably nominate this game for "The Villain Most in Need of a Hug" reward.

The long and short of it:

-Game will always run at 720p; higher resolutions trigger upscaling
-Artes menu has PS3 UI
-Even if look past the issues mentioned above, it runs as good as the PS3 verison, which isn't good at all considering that this originally ran at 60FPS on the gamecube. Yes, i know that the PS3 version is based on the PS2 version, but the fact remains is that there's still that huge difference in computing power.

The following has since been fixed, but nonetheless contributed to ToS' embarrassing launch:
-Shift+tab crashes your game
-What's a contorol?
-Very long menu loading times

Unless I see any evidence that suggests that this port was was outsourced to another company (in the case of Zestiria, QLOC ported it), wanting Tekken and/or Ace Combat 7 to be on Steam will be better than having it.

All you need to know is that the best Worms game is now playable on modern systems. If you have any IRL friends, perhaps the most prudent move would be to drag them to your desk and play some hot-seat goodness like you would in the Windows 98 days.

I will admit that while I am definitely not the game's target audience (small children or bronies), I found myself growing fond of the its colorful setting and I can safely say that if you're a brony or want a game to add in your Steam library for your small children to play, you'll definitely want this game.

As of October 5th, 2021, Killing Floor 2 is now pay-to-win, since one of the more important classes for higher difficulties (the Berserker/designated tank) has received a few nerfs back in the summer of 2021 only to gain a paid weapon that helps fix most of the problems that the summer balance changes have introduced. Tripwire/Saber Interactive has no plans on giving a base game alternative to the Berserker's DLC Piranha Pistol, and their community moderators will shut down suggestions regarding this.

2024-12-09 edit: the change from Steam Family Sharing to Steam Families has most likely nerfed the item duplication exploit. It might be better to just not bother with KF2 at all unless you get the Ultimate Edition AND the DLC item distribution system actually works. If the Steam forums have anything to say, item distribution from Steam Store purchases is still busted.

2023-07-21 EDIT: It is possible to play around Killing Floor 2's pay-to-win since you can usually get a weapon bundle off the trading forum for the price of a Team Fortress 2 Mann-Co Crate Key. You're still gonna be spending money on a Berserker buff, though all of your money will go to the Valve Corporation rather than Tripwire seeing any amount of it. I'll still mark this review as negative since it's better to not get the game at all. This is more of a useful piece of trivia if you've made the mistake of buying this game early on in its lifespan.

I still find the game to be a fun wave-based shooter, though I'm gonna have to give this game a thumbs down due to some personal concerns I have regarding pay-to-win and when I voiced my concerns about Tripwire/Saber Interactive's business practices with recent balance patches, I was told to "stay on-topic" when discussing about certain in-game strategies, mentioning how an in-app purchase more or less fixes some problems that were introduced in the summer balance patch.

Oh, and to further add to the negative review, this game has been bloated to hell and back to such a point where the recommended requirements for this game are no longer adequate. I'm running this game on a system that can trade blows with the Xbox Series X and I'm actually using a custom low INI tweak in order to have decent performance. If you have a gaming PC from the early to mid 2010s, this game will likely be unplayable

2022-05-27 Edit: Criticizing P2W business models can get you banned from KF2's Steam community hub, as I was threatened by a moderator to drop my mentions of an in-app purchase when discussing game balance, even though IAPs are a factor to consider when talking about balancing in other games where in-game items cost real world money.

With Final Fantasy Type-0 announced for Steam, i think it's time for me to tear down my "buy this so eff eff ecks vee can be on steam" excuse of a review and tell you all what i actually think of FFXIII.

When i first bought the game, I was already waiting to be disappointed because I saw my fair share of complaints about the porting quality and if I had wanted to to get FFXIII for reasons other than wanting FFXV to be on Steam, i'd get the PS3 version instead. And I'm somewhat thankful that i didn't get FFXIII-2.

Asides from a combat system that I personally find worse than the iterations of ATB I incessantly insult for being too outdated to warrant a 1:1 FFVII remake, I've also noticed that the performance leaves a lot to be desired, and this isn't because it's the PS3's Crysis killer.

Oh no, as it turns out, the game actually uses less system resources than it should. I have found this out when i decided to play TF2 one day and when i was playing the Engineer in Team Fortress 2, i ended up getting bored enough to run Final Fantasy XIII AND TF2 at the same time. When taking system tempurature and TF2's frames per second into consideration, FFXIII barely made a dent on my system performance despite FFXIII running like crap.

As for the actual story, it's.... okay, i guess, but it doesn't do enough to distract me from performance issues i shouldn't have and what might actually be the weakest iteration of the Active Time Battle system. Hell, even before this game was out on consoles, i was more interested in Final Fantasy versus XIII (now called Final Fantasy XV) because it's supposed to be more like Kingdom Hearts.

So yeah, you're probably better off waiting for Type-0 to release on Steam.

Rewriting my review because FF3's purpose as a glorified petition is obsoleted

Let's start off with the bad:
  • When i first purchased the game, I couldn't help but notice my troubles with button mapping. Granted, i have only tested it with a Logitech 310 controller and have yet to test another controller as keyboard remapping for the most part works perfectly well.
  • Although i'm personally not bothered by this (mostly because i only play this game when playing the Engineer in Team Fortress 2), Final Fantasy III shares the same framerate limits as its Nintendo DS release. Despite what the Steam store page suggests, the 3D visuals are hardly improved as most (if not all) the assets are taken from the DS version.
  • Although this is more than a personal gripe than what i actually find bad about the game, I couldn't help but notice some need to grind when fighting the Djinn. Maybe it's cuz I haven't grown up with Nintendo consoles, so the nostalgia of an antiquated battle system doesn't really appeal to me

With all that said above, I personally don't think that Final Fantasy III is a bad game by any stretch of the word. Hell, for a game that's older than me, it's actually pretty good for something from the NES' lifespan. However, I can't recommend the game at its current price given that it didn't age all too well (Hell, i'd go as far as to call FFVII antiquated), so you're better off waiting for either a sale or a drop in the MSRP. (Considering that Square-Enix's faith in PC gaming has been secured, discounts are very likely)
