The only horrorgame I ever played prior to this was Phasmophobia which is a buggy mess and not even a real horrorgame in my opinion - anyways this was my first ever real horrorgame and it was straight in VR; should be unbelievably scary, right?

Xbox live doesnt work which makes the entire multiplayer inaccessible. Teredo cant qualify bla bla if you google it it will give you a million 3rd party ways to fix it and not a single legit one from microsoft. Nothing works bla bla so my account is stuck without xbox live and that means I cant play any halo game online and I really have better things to do than to get a phd in xbox servers - incredible how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retareded the halo ports are on pc, one is stuck on 4k and wont even allow me to reach the sign in button, locked on 30fps or I cant connect to those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Teredo online services. Amazin™️

From trying every gun in a bot match and playing the tutorial I gotta say that it looks incredibly fun though

(At the end its much too one- sided for me, it gets pretty boring for me pretty fast sadly (just farming bots over and over again))

This game lets you go too fast for its engine so passing through walls is possible but not a problem still somehow - you can always safely surf off of edges with enough speed to gain ♥♥♥♥ tons of altitude without that risk. ITS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FUN MY GOD

But since Im writing this with exactly 30 mins playtime (at least this part maybe Ill update this) I have to say that you have to explore the hub to see whats up and it doesnt really seem straight forward - on the flip side thats not a bad thing at all but just something I noticed, the levels are also less straight forward than you might expect but since its an arena youll know the level after a few minutes by its layout and even with that at the first time and with enough speed to send yourself to mars and back you still have enough time to react and choose a way to explore next - so now im turning this stroke into a pro point, didnt expect that huh?

Anyway fun arena less straight forward than youd might expect bla bla STRAIGHT FORWARD IS BORING IN GAMES LIKE THIS!

OH AND YOU CAN DEFINETELY GO OUT OF BOUNDS SINCE I DIDNT MANISH TO HIT A SKYBOX YET AND IVE VISITED THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STARS MAN (extra jump, grappling hook paired with a giant map and an unhealthy surf lineup that probably imploded my face after hitting it off with at least mach 20)

The animations also feel heavy and nice and the weapons too feel heavy and powerful

Edit: The AGL in the gungame mode is always an obstacle (and of course as well as weapons like the rocket launcher) because it simply doesnt have enough ammo... And good luck without ammo trying to beat enemies to death for some.

Also theres no mode select so you always have to restart the game if you want to change modes...?

And theres a bug at the exit of the hub - if you leap off you will respawn at the edge of the ring too far away to reach the platform and you will just keep on falling and falling.
You can land somewhere then jump off again, respawn in the air move forward and double jump dash to the platform again.

I bought this game at 2am for 5 bucks cuz I wanted a good old ♥♥♥♥♥♥ first person x tower defense game

TURNS OUT THIS IS NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - of course its nowhere near a AAA title but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they/he knew how to invest those hours! Definetely worth the 5 bucks, even has pretty unreal engine graphics!

Also the dev(s) (still dont know how many ppl worked on that) should write a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie script like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all this is SO WELL THOUGHT OUT, I LOVE IT!!! (Apart from the storyline AI being a bit oblivious in choosing the terrain and saying there will be no big problems ahead etc)

(Disclaimer: I was gifted this gem to review it, I don't even know why you would give me that much power but I really really apprechiate it! Also I was told to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game and tell the devs over any flaws on a rather direct review example of mine (Windlands if you're wondering). Basically the disclaimer shouldn't mean anything but here you go)


First of all, it's a must have for every grappling hook enthusiast that has VR, these are the best grappling hooks I've used this far (didn't bother with Windlands 2 for now though but I still definetely had my fair share of grappling hooks) and after my 2.6 hours I've gotten a really good feeling for these bois. Fine tuning jets included (brilliant idea on that note lmao).

Playtime wise I've completed the main story and 9/20 (Edit: 30 total, another 10 in beta testing right now so 40 coming total) of the races with the last one taking me AGES to get a run with a finish (Id rather try again than slow down significantly) - the levels get longer and harder and its really getting on your rage meter if you're tryharding like me for no apparant reason, but more on that later.

You definetely shouldn't buy this game for its story, rather for grappling hooks and Soviet jokes (always lifts the mood with your friendly neighbourhood Russian) - Seriously if you're searching for some new movement based VR game this IS the gem you've been searching for, altough pricy for the playtime (on one playthrough aka the bare minimum) it's well worth it if you wanna spend your time perfecting your times on the time trials and get to that number 1 spot on the leaderboard.
Movement based games were dying out and VR is reviving them, you gotta love this industry for that

Even though the devs aren't Russians they NAILED the (Russian) music - it fits the game so so SO well and at the trials and certain parts of the game there is a good amount borrowed from hardbass and I love it to the moon and back!

Also; theres not a SINGLE loading screen, it really keeps the paste of the entire game going and it's just sooo smooth...
Seriously thats sOo0 nice to have even though I have no idea how the devs held those loading screens so short that they are nearly seemless, I'm so much all for it, extra especially in VR! - I guess that art style doesn't just make it special visually but also somehow kills any loading time and fps lacks, I have a GTX 1060 6GB and an i7 8700 (installed on my harddrive even) and what can I say? - Seemless loading and steady fps, really unlike anything before this.

Critique:
Roof. The only bad / annoying thing that I found for myself were places you got stuck on and lost all of the momentum, but the better you get the less you hit walls / the ceilings etc etc so it gets significantly less annoying but for the learning process that was the only really annoying thing I found in there.

Replay Value: Yes
If you're planning on getting your moneys worth if you define that by the playtime than you're NOT gonna have a hard time with this indie grapple mastery gem - You can even get into speedrunning the game and, well, its perfect for replaying, not just the time trials. Speaking of which -

Time trials: Like I said, for now Ive only played 9/20 of the trials but they are definetely becoming harder and longer (significantly) and I will definetely at least try them all out and have a go at the leaderboard for some that got me in the top 30 without donating 3 kidneys to one level but I'll update this if anything more important is going to pop up regarding that (I don't think so, the concept is pretty simple (as its supposed to be))

[/u]Also you definetely feel like you're that comrade in the game cover - even though this pose (stretching your arms behind your back) may give you and your hands / room some bad flashbacks over Gorilla Tag I didn't ONCE have a problem with this game taking up too much playspace - and I'm gonna measure mine just for this review.

Bugs and ♥♥♥♥ I've encountered after beating it: (only read if you already played the game, theres nothing here for you other than spoilers if you read it without having bought it, these bugs are as minor as my hours of sleep as of writing this)

Also the ending opened my third eye, it was really that good


- At the underground antlion part (at the end of the antlion part) theres a caution symbol lying on the ground - I think this shouldve been a texture because... Well you hold it like a retarded italian (as when alyx messes up a grab which happens rarely) and the back doesnt have a texture... You can see through it.

- Speaking of antlions, at the big fight theres this part in the very beginning of the arena or whatever and well you can climb it and its out of bounds, nothing more to say (no physics / collision and at some parts the ground lets you pass through it and you die)

- For me, a Quest 2 user (and a very raped gtx 1060 6GB) there were 2 times a bug that I had less than 20 fps and after reloading I had my smooth fps back.

Anywhere you go, people fall over and dispense themselves in a black goo for no reason and any building you're in begins to crack and break over time - you distance yourself from all this horror to not hurt anyone anymore. You cannot die anymore. You need to find all of the figures to break free. The figures will not show themselves, you will stay where you are until time itself begins to lose its meaning. You were too greedy.
