This game just wont die- At least one full lobby and a hand full of medium sized ones to this date

I never really play single player games anymore since it is always pretty much the same- find bla and go to bla... This can be really blatantly found in triple a games that are open world- pretty much every new game is the same- over and over again, there is simply no variation anymore! (Just compare it to maybe watchdogs- there are so many similarities it actually hurts, even with a game like mirrors edge catalyst- a parcour game! Collectibles, some story I guess and just boring tasks everywhere... (Ubisoft games in a nutshell, thats why I never bothered with them anyway)).
This game however is something different- It knows what it is and what people come to expect from it (2d platformer with a good focus on combat). It knows this and plays with it, and it also knows how to exploit itself to a certain extent (im not talking about speedrun strats, more like the most effective way of utilizing its movement). There are certain goodies (which are not a big deal to find or collect to achieve 100% since you pick most of them up the first time you get there) which you only get by abusing some mechanic a bit more or less. The entire game, in fact, uses its movement to the fullest.

Now I havent played a 2d platformer since my super mario child memories (and the first ori) but its still not hard for me to find out how to "exploit" (like I said, use the movement to its fullest extend) a certain mechanic.

Also, of course, the entire game is pretty much a piece of art and the graphics will always look great- even if it gives me a headache thinking about all the drawing that was necessary for this. Good thing is- its a metrovania- you come back later and basically see some corners more than once. This results in the (just like in the first ori- perfect and without any unsoft edges) map being used in the most efficient but not annoying way.

Compared with the first one, they added so much more! Its like they made a bucket list while developing the first one with unfinished Ideas and put them all into this one plus the already amazing foundation of this game! The combat is just another level compared to the first one, Ori got more sounds and clean new animations and its just all like the first one but BETTER and MORE

My only bad thing is the implementation of the NPC's- its like they stepped in the direction of the previously ranted open world AAA games... Maybe its just that my reputation for NPC's only went downhill from my perfect Zelda childhood- Anyway thats a con over which I can get over easily.
Im still unsure if its a bad thing to implement (some good, some bad) talking characters in the previously silent indie gem and fill them with one sidequests each (or kind of shop for the important ones).
They are well made but they make me feel like this is a game strictly targeted at kids- I havent played it through at the time of writing this but theres even little scenes like (edit: Nevermind there was a wrong point once here) or just some cringeworthy NPC's- This wasnt a thing in the first one and deciding whether less was more in the first installation is just nitpicking I guess but still- Theres my only minus point. That happens if you give a familiy friendly game more character- cringe

Ninja Ori sick as ♥♥♥♥ tho

I was bored and didnt know what to do with my time and then I saw this gem for 5 bucks

Its chill (if you play it on normal anyway) and really, really beatiful. Since its a metrovania it also uses its map in the most efficient way and since I never played metroid, it was fun to really try one specific metrovania out! Like seriously, the movement is sooo clean and I really love games with good movement! Like just simple things that wont interfere with the gameplay but this thing just takes its GODLY movement and uses it AS ITS REASON TO PLAY (at least for a big part (at least for me)). Also since its 2d its special to the other games I mostly play and stands out even more. 2d also makes this game less confusing and I think as a metrovania game where you return to specific parts of the map with better abilities that is a big and important point.

Overall probably the best 5 bucks I ever spent

Story nice too. BUT DAMN THAT ARTSTYLE

Mobile games are better than this-

For example when 2 same attacks hit eachother theres a 50/50 chance you will land the shot or miss, one will hit it and the other wont... Thats one example I found in the first 5 minutes of playing this abomination of a free ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ smash bros clone from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2017

Edit: It actually depends on the hp of you / your opponent but this wasnt the only problem of course... Not that I remember anything of the other stuff I found in my unbelievably long playtime but I do remember the UI / getting this game to work being a giant pain in the ass.

edit: anti cheat lol, still more than usable for your crippeling alcoholism though, the people "leaving" won't hold out for more than a year, this stuff still has the largest userbase and if you wanna try fancy tech out you just leave for Neos or CVR and come back kek

Id guess it would actually be fun though

I just need a bit of AI in the living entities and definetely a few more maps (like lava or literally anything but another giant dark room because we already got that more than covered) and an editor. You could solve both by providing a map editor and integrate it into the already existing workshop.

Also I think the game is capped at 60 hz please fix that too you absolute legends (sorry about my demanding review but yeah... Amazing game either way, really in-depht and the amount of detail is also pretty stunning (Rotors pull stuff in from below and not just blow stuff away from above as ONE (bad) example))

I dont care just here to say I enjoyed it :)

Basically a surprisingly fun survival mode game with hl2 graphics (because... Its source and yeah you can see that) and assets and just straight up fun multiplayer with custom maps and stuff like in cs or garrys mod on a server list (OR hl2 deathmatch for extreme legends out there) (dont worry there are also many other modes, I just like the survival part the most but I guess for the most part when I played there were actually left4dead like objectives like planting a bomb and getting out of there)

Sry if my review doesnt sound that smooth im tired as ♥♥♥♥ but bored so here you go- it got mods like left4dead2 with reskins and yeah... TRY IT (youll love it if you even remotely liked left4dead... I ADORE source graphics in hl2 or cs style for some odd reason thats also why I like this gem so much)

Edit: The hl2 assets are actually just... Let me recall that... I think the sentry gun, health packs and I guess some more but the game IS original in maps and stuff

Also it got practically no bugs whatsoever! So neat! (reading some angry german comments I saw some bugs like the game crashing when changing graphics... Ill check it but... Its literally hl2 graphics it wont get any better or worse haha)
