interesting game at $2.99, well worth that price in my opinion. dunno if that will come back again
was pretty chill while under the influence of weed

i will say i hit a content wall at around 15 hours... money stopped being useful and once i had all 9 mechs fixed all i could do really was farm reputation to play the stock market simulator. which was broken, because the stochastic movement of the prices was almost always based around the high. so anytime it lowered you could just buy and be guaranteed for it to go back up pretty fast. it is dumb. it was easier to do small trades over and over once you had a good baseline of money than to actually do jobs.

now that I have played a few runs with it, I think I do like this dlc.

other people have mentioned it but the biggest issue right now is that every planet can have a governor but you dont get many leader slots, while having many worlds. if you are going to limit them so much then just make it sector based imo and dont worry about planet governors. or they could be autogenerated maybe

the issue with the leaders window lowering fps is mods, without mods i no longer get any drop. so basically i will just deal with it since i only play with mods.

Some other good UI changes. I'm not a big fan of the paragon system, feels same-y and not emergent at all. just seeing the same characters every campaign.

this is a game you will either play 90 hours in a week in, or 15 minutes ever. The difficulty curve can be rough but it flattens out very quickly in my opinion. Excellent survival game with a lot of mods, it feels much more logical than other zombie games, even dayZ feels completely random at points in terms of loot locations. They are obviously very different games though

very good game, however, a lot less "content" than other similar games, aka, there is less replayability. extremely cute, great soundtrack, great looking style, cute foxes. the new update definitely feels like it extends out the gameplay to a more appropriate length, and it's awesome it was free. they could have totally sold it as a dlc

the only reason this has positive reviews is because you can review it even if you have just the subscription so no one actually bought it after that came out

decent game. best on sale. beat it in one sitting. a largely narrative game with some light puzzle solving and simple mysteries. plot is okay.

it implies throughout the game that your destiny will change based on your actions but i am not sure that is true and i dont think it matters at all except that there are achievements it matters for. narrative wise, i do not think it matters. apparently there is a 4th ending by doing some combination of actions but i cant be bothered to play the game a third time. i already speedran it to see the 3rd since you need to do something specific for it

many missed opportunities. not bad as a game i forgot i bought 4 years ago or whatever.

don't ask what lovecraft's cat's name is and you'll be fine

but as I mention in my other review if you're going to buy the dlc then you'll buy the dlc. only worth on sale still

the archer and annihilator are both great mechs though.

flashpoints are just the same missions except there's slightly more flavor text and sometimes it forces you into consecutive deployments. Which I have no problem with. It's nice they reward a good weapon or gear or whatever but overall it's not worth even $10 imo. It's something that should already be in the base game. I know we need to support the devs but like... it's just dialogue.

There are some custom modded flashpoints but frankly what I have seen so far has been a bit sad.

if you're going to buy the dlc then you're going to buy it

however, megacities run like ♥♥♥♥. even worse if a fire starts which it almost certainly will (fire also causes performance issues)

It's because every single building is its own entity with hp instead of just a base
the game doesn't run very well already but that's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ since I love urban combat and the way sightlines and stuff work and how terrain can be remodeled
