i played this back during its free weekend and i thought it was a cool idea, but at the time I wasn't interested in playing a company of heroes clone. It's not that clones are bad, I just had spent plenty of time on CoH. This is a fine CoH clone. It has a cool setting and the story is interesting thus far. I love mecha.

However, this was ruined for me. I will say recommended because the game itself is fine if a bit janky and glitchy sometimes compared to CoH (which had a much bigger studio).

However, the art, which is great, is all stolen and plagiarized. This is a huge mood killer for me as soon as I saw the proof. It's sort of like demystifying someone's entire art direction into tracing.

Here is the proof and side by sides. They (the artist) even ripped off the Gekko from MGS5, several tabletop games, marvel movies, etc etc. I understand tracing, I traced myself to practice, but to submit it professionally and act as if it is majority your original work might as well be the AI art controversy 4 years ago.

I don't think the studio themselves has bad intentions here, but I do believe they picked the wrong artist, and should have ditched him as soon as this happened. The evidence is overwhelming.

It's only the art and I get that it can be separate from the game. But every time I see the MGS5 Gekko I just laugh.
