Carlos is incredibly hot. I get it now

I hate this game with every fibre of my being but I still keep coming back to it.

Can't say I'd wholeheartedly recommend it but I'm not going as far as giving it a negative either. Considering its price I overlooked a lot of things, but I just want to say it had a lot of wasted potential. My main gripe with it is the English translations which seem to be partially redone, won't go on about everything else as they're already covered by others.

Past reviews mentioned that the game had major translation problems with terrible grammar and awkward dialogue; one-third into the game though, I thought those reviews were outdated, because the dialogue was actually pretty good. They must've redone the translations with an actual expert, I thought. That held for a while. Somewhere two-thirds into it, the writing just fell apart.

It went from: "We've only met a few times, and here I am asking about his problems when he barely knows my name. I hope Tremere doesn't think of me as strange or overly flirtatious."

...to: "You dirty dog! You killed [him], and hurt me now! I'm gonna kill you right now! You made me sick!".

Both were actual lines and both were said by Leia, the MC. One at the start and the other towards the end. The disparity in personality was kinda hilarious, almost as if they were written by two writers of vastly different skill levels. The VN is relatively cheap, sure, but I don't think it's an excuse considering many others have done much better work at similar prices.

It's a good game, I guess.
