A Obsidian RPG through and through. It runs well, has interesting stories/side quests, interesting characters and a beautiful wellcrafted world to explore.

Uninspired TAB target combat, boring collect 10 bear arses quest design.

Aimless weapon based skill system instead of well designed flexible classes.

**MILAGE MAY VARY IN REGARDS TO PERFORMANCE**
***The microtransactions while scummy and annoying don't impact the game experience at all, you don't even see them while playing and the game as far as I can tell is not designed with mtx in mind***

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a very good open world RPG held back by poor performance and a serious lack of enemy variety. If you want to play a point to point linear game pretending to be a sprawling RPG *Looking at you TES5*, then DD2 is not the game for you, there are 2 types of fast travel in the game and they both have downsides.

There are lots of areas to explore and you can easily miss side areas, interesting encounters, loot and even minor hubs.

The game won't hold your hand, which is sometimes frustrating and sometimes rewarding. The flow of time means food goes bad and quest NPCs who are in danger might die. There are arbitrary limits on storage like only being able to store 99 of any one item or you only being able to place 10 custom Ferrystone locations.

The Pawn system returns from DD1 and has been refined and expanded. Pawns are unfortunately not allowed to learn every Vocation.
The Vocation system is flexible and easy to understand, but unfortunately stops short of letting you build your own Class.

Overall DD2 is what DD1/DDDA should have been, a playable yet anachronistic and mostly charming RPG experience, decisions were made during the development and not all of them good. DD2 like its predecessors does not go out of its way to respect your time in both good and bad ways.

I would especially recommend this game to RPG players who enjoy exploration.

Solid 7/10 Open World RPG.

A good followup on the first game, same satifying exploration and loot loop.

Only real drawback is that I wish it shipped with more worlds, atm rerolling the same 3 worlds gets stale after the 2 first goes.

EDIT: Still playing, haven't unlocked everything yet.

If you are familiar with PDS' DLCs then this DLC would fit the niche of Species/Flavour Pack.

1 new Form - Lizardfolk
2 new Tomes
1 new Lord type - Dragon

It's not alot, but it adds to an already large variety of combinations.
For the price they are asking 10USD/110NOK I'd say this is easy to recommend if you already love AoW4.

The tone of the game is spot-on as a game set in the movie universe and the campaign is fun and has a variety of mission types. Eventually you'll get to a mission where the bugs just keep spamming the same tanky long range bug however, which kills the mood somewhat and is currently blocking me from progressing.(There is probably a solution, but that involves replaying the mission and changing which units I use)

Price point is probably about right for a budget RTS with no Coop, Skirmish or Vs.

Seems like a pretty run of the mill Asian MMO.

Early Access Review
A well crafted survival game with alot of potential, smoothest early access I've ever been part of.
