They bashed this game for being too different from dks 1.
They bashed dark souls 3 for being too similar.

Just give this game a try but don't go in expecting another dark souls 1. FromSoft made a good game on its own terms, and for what it lacks in some aspects, it totally makes up in others *cough* pvp * cough*.
