I don't have a clue what's going on, but it's still extremely interesting to play. Yet another masterpiece from the mind of Jeppe Carlsen and one of the best indies in the recent years.

Great metroidvania and an excellent sequel.

They have addressed some of the most annoying shortcomings of the first game and introduced lots of new features and mechanics. Some notable improvements such as a double-jump, better wall-climbing, a variety of different weapons (in place of Mea Culpa) each with unique abilities and much more. And yeah, spikes no longer kill you with a single hit.

The art has been elevated to an even higher level than in the first game, which was already visually stunning. The music, while not exceptional, is still great.

Highly recommended.

Great metroidvania with interesting exploration, well-crafted secrets and good combat system.

Not a masterpiece, but not bad either. This game is just ordinary.

It has really great graphics, animations and sound-design. Not so bad gunplay and overal atmosphere. And really mediocre story and game-design.

Get it on discount.

First impressions after the few hours of playing. Just to give you an idea.

GOOD

• Great art. If you like this style, of course.
  
• Pretty good dialogues with lots of additional / extended reply options based on your build.
  
• Great variety of characters and locations.
  
• Potentially good replay value as we choose backstory and different starting skills.
  
• Glossary for all historical places, events and personalities. Play and learn history.
  
• Flexible text settings.

BAD / CONTROVERSIAL

• Fonts. The general idea with medieval-like fonts for different characters and parts of the interface is pretty cool, but after 20 minutes of playing my eyes got really tired. I literally had to peer into every letter in some parts just to understand what was written. This is very difficult for a game with such a large amount of reading. But fortunately there is an option to switch back to regular fonts.
  
• Might be just me, but map looks a little hard to understand and overloaded.

Just to sum up, the game so far is pretty enjoyable and for me it has all the chances to become this year's hidden gem.

This must be the most beautiful looking game to date. Lighting, shadows, even the smallest textures — everything feels like the real next-gen. A truly spectacular graphics and art design.

The game itself has become more mature and brutal with some really horrifying scenes along the way. The gameplay hasn't changed that much, but there are still some sweet additions like crossbow and new alchemy tools. The soundtrack is also pretty good and solid.

A massive step forward compared to the first game. That's how you make a good sequel.

Beautifully crafted and sweet piece of art mixed together with the astonishing soundtrack by Floex (check his other works too it's amazing).

If you like Amanita Design games, then this is probably the closest thing you can get.

Although it's heavily inspired by Hidden Folks in terms of game design and overall approach (which is really unique and probably one of the best in the genre), this is still pretty nice and enjoyable game with its own charme and great UFO atmosphere.

So if you liked Hidden Folks this one is a quite decent alternative.
