Summary
A short classic point and click adventure game that is quite fun and humorous.

Pros
+ Quite funny
+ Short and sweet

Cons
- Stiff voice work

Overview
Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World is a pretty old classic point & click adventure game that doesn't really try to break the mold, working with what already works and the game is plenty fun and funny albeit quite short.
As with most point & clicks there are puzzles to solve but they aren't too difficult given enough time to figure them out. Since there isn't too many areas for each section, they will have you double backing to previous areas now and again quite a bit.

Over the years they have been updating the game and continued to fix and improve the game. It is surprising how long ago the game came out the first time I played it and how different it has become getting significant updates such as adding voice work, better graphics, and achievements. We don't normally see this happen, often having a completely new Remaster sort of version resold to us.

Achievements aren't too difficult as most are tied to the story, missable ones will require you to pay some attention to the descriptions to figure out what you need to do. You will also need to go through 2 playthroughs at minimum to get them all.

Summary
A short store simulator demo with a unique TCG theme that can be played freely only with feature limits saved for the full game

Pros
+ Simple chill fun
+ Unique theme

Cons
- Progress don't carry over

Overview
TCG Card Shop Simulator is a very short demo simulator giving you a glimpse of what to expect in the full release game.
For a demo it is quite generous as it allows you to freely play the game as long as you want, the only limitations being that some features are locked and only available in the full game. Unfortunately they don't show what the locked items are so you can't see what to expect for in the full game.

Gameplay
The game is a simple store simulator with a Trading Card Game theme, so it sets itself apart from many other store simulators as it has a clear unique and maybe even niche theme around it.
You run the day to day managing of your card store keeping customers happy, stocking items, and paying off bills to name a few. The games unique aspect with its TCG theme is that you are not just selling cards and watching customers play in your store, rather you can also open up booster packs yourself to build your personal collection or find rare cards that you can sell off for a hefty profit.
The only unfortunate thing I found is that due to the limitations of the prologue, things can get pretty repetitive especially once you hit level 12 unlocking all the available items to sell. As well as the only card pack available is the very basic one making it impossible to collect any other Tetramons as any true TCG player would do.

I found the game to be quite relaxing and enjoyable even when not everything is available. I got to store level 14, way past having to unlock all items and day 50 before deciding that it would be a good time to be done with the prologue.

There is a roadmap and new feature updates already implemented into the full release that I read will unfortunately not be implemented into the prologue and that it may be left on it's current 0.27 version.

If you are looking to check out what the game is about do have a go at it but don't put too much time towards the prologue especially if you plan to build your card collection. Save files and your progress will not be ported over to the full game as the save file data is no longer compatible.

Summary
A very short realistic visual novel of an introverted girl attending college with severe social anxiety attempting to make herself dinner while avoiding people.

Pros
+ Realistic
+ Charming

Overview
The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is a very short visual novel with a fairly typical yet very realistic story of an introverted college girl with social anxiety trying to navigate her social awkwardness and make dinner in her kitchen dorm. The game is conveyed in a nice simple hand drawn style with minimal movements but is charming.

As it is a visual novel the bulk of the game is reading and navigating through dialogue boxes while making choices for Samantha. There is surprisingly a "fail" state where if you make incorrect or bad decisions for Samantha too much a gauge fills up and the story ends badly, or as badly as it could to skip dinner for a night.
One thing that is a little annoying is that there isn't much indication as to how you should make some decisions which end up raising the gauge regardless. Though I think this is a part of the game as it is about social anxiety and so there is simply no way for you to avoid raising the anxiety gauge regardless of how correct the choice may be.
There are a few endings you can find yourself in where a decision may lock you to a bad end, sometimes it isn't so obvious until later and you already failed. The game is very short so it doesn't matter to replay the game and try to get the good end.

I can really relate to the story being told as I myself experienced the same thing when I was younger and attending college. Having anxiety and overthinking many little inconsequential things can really ruin your happiness and mood.
Overall its a good little game that could help people understand how some people live their lives and how such simple things could be daunting tasks, the things that go through their minds and how badly it effects themselves.

Achievements aren't difficult at all but requires a few playthroughs as one is obtaining all endings.

Summary
A short casual point and click puzzle game set in a strange whimsical world with a relatively simple story more focused on fun silly humor.

Pros
+ Strange interesting world

Overview
Botanicula is a short casual point & click game taking place in a strange whimsical world filled with equally strange creatures. The story is quite simple and the game is meant to be more casual and humorous compared to other Amanita Designs games.

You play as a gang of 5 plant or seedling like creatures in a quest to save the last seed of their home tree from being devoured by parasitic entities. The game consists of little puzzles to solve and collecting items in order to progress and they aren't particularly difficult to solve and find, though some will require trial and error as the solutions aren't always so obvious. Mostly the game is more about clicking around environments and exploring how things interact and using 1 of the 5 creatures unique abilities and strengths to progress.

Achievements are quite varied as half is tied to progression while the other half require a bit of exploring to obtain.

Summary
A short atmospheric puzzle adventure game emphasizing more on its emotional narrative story of 4 characters navigating through the Great War.

Pros
+ Great story telling
+ WWI history

Cons
- Slow pace

Overview
Valiant Hearts is a short atmospheric puzzle adventure game that focuses more on its emotional narrative story than gameplay. It follows 4 different characters of differing backgrounds with their own stories and goals all tied to the unfolding conflict of World War I showing us how the war impacts the common people. There are also many facts and history relating to the war you could read giving you a great glimpse of the conditions and current events of the time.

Story
The story revolves around World War I or the Great War as it was known at the time and we play as 4 different fictional characters of differing backgrounds all with their own stories to tell and their part in the war from its beginning to its end. The game is separated into chapters starting with how the war started and as we follow through history and our 4 protagonists personal journey through the war to how it finally ends and what it means for each of them.
Although the main focus may seem to be the characters we play, Valiant Hearts is also telling a much larger story of the history of World War I and the impact it has on the common people regardless if they were soldiers. The overall story and each characters personal arcs are rather poignant, some of them more so than the others.

Gameplay
The game is a 2D side scroller and is not complicated at all and quite slow paced opting to focus more on it's story and atmosphere being more of an educational game. You move backwards and forwards following the objectives of each character at the time where some areas will require you to solve puzzles or follow the instructions given to them by their commanding officers or some other requiring assistance.
Each character plays more or less the same but each having some ability only they are capable of doing making it somewhat different for the levels of those characters.
There are also some levels that play differently almost like minigames but there are only a few though they do mix things up a little.

There are collectables you could find while throughout the different levels, although not adding to the overall gameplay itself but serves as a way to learn more of the war and it's history.

Graphics
Graphics of the game is nothing impressive on the technical side but is quite beautiful in its backgrounds and how it depicts the war utilizing a comic book style overall and in its story telling while using real historic pictures for its educational tidbits.
Other than making certain levels drab and depressing fitting of its conditions the game also does not sugar coat things and truly depict some of the horrors of war such as some gore, though due to the art style some of the gore isn't too detailed but it is obvious what it is.

There are no achievements implemented for Steam but there are actions you could complete for UPlay/Ubisoft Connect. Most aren't difficult but do check if you plan to complete them all as some are optional interactions.

Summary
A very short demo to the full game showing early gameplay to expect with many features locked away.

Pros
+ Good enough demo

Cons
- Very limited

Overview
Retail Company Simulator: Prologue is a very short demo of Retail Company Simulator giving you an insight to the full game and its features but having a number of them locked, though it has no limitations and is open ended there isn't much of a point to continue once you hit a certain point.

The game consists of you running your own store in a strip mall and having to balance buying stock of clothes & furniture, paying bills, and upgrading your store. There is a little bit of micromanaging and this is especially true for the prologue as you need to run everything from restocking to running the cashier all on your own as there is a feature to hire employees but this is locked in the prologue.

It is a simple enough game and the prologue shows you exactly what to expect if you were to get the full game excluding some features that is there but inaccessible. The prologue shows that the game itself doesn't seem to be very difficult and isn't intended to be likely more to relax and slowly build upwards to a big store or maybe multiple stores as you form your little retail empire, although the prologue is very limited in scope and only gives you the early stuff.

Achievements are very easy to get just play and eventually you'll get them all.

Summary
Short educational point and click meant for children and first of the series.

Pros
+ Perfect for kids
+ Educational fun

Cons
- Repetitive

Overview
Putt-Putt Joins the Parade is a short educational point & click meant for children and is the very first release in the Putt-Putt series. By todays standards everything from the graphics and sound looks pretty rough and definitely quite outdated but it doesn't change the fact that the game is still quite fun and entertaining for children, even us older folks who grew up and played it before will have a nice nostalgia trip.

The game is quite short but children will definitely spend far more time exploring and having fun clicking at everything as it is very interactive and there are a lot of mini games for them to enjoy. It is also very educational teaching kids the concept of money, chores, and more. Everything is intuitive and quite easy to understand so kids shouldn't have a problem understanding what to do and the things they can play around with. Unlike the newer games in the series there is less variety to change in each playthrough and so more repetition, though the game has quite a bit of side activities that kids will likely spend a lot of time on.

Summary
Short old school point and click educational game meant for children.

Pros
+ Fun educational
+ Perfect for kids

Cons
- Outdated facts

Overview
Putt-Put Goes to the Moon is an old school educational point & click meant for children with a wacky storyline fit for their little imaginations and filled to the brim with fun little activities that will definitely instill laughter and joy. Even older folks that grew up with Putt-Putt will surely get a nostalgic kick playing through the game again. The game has been brought back to run flawlessly on newer systems and won't cause a headache when running it.

Not only is it a fun game with lots of interactive things that children will enjoy it is also quite educational with little tidbits of facts and knowledge thrown in, though some may be slightly outdated as the science has changed since then.
Definitely get this for your kids as it will be a fun teaching experience for them with useful knowledge and is good practice for problem solving and logical thinking. Each playthrough is also randomized so they can't simply do the same thing repeatedly.

Summary
A short comedic classic point and click introducing us to its world and story.

Pros
+ Funny
+ Decent gameplay

Cons
- No continuation

Overview
Mercury Blue: Mini Episode is a short comedic classic point & click that's more of a small introduction to the story and world of its supposed planned episodic full release.

The story is simple enough showing a nice introduction to its backstory and what is planned, along with some interesting background set up and world setting to expect with pretty good voice work. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any news about its continuation for some time.

Gameplay is basic enough using the very classic point & click elements so its easy to get into especially if you're familiar with the genre. You get to play as the 2 characters both having a different section of the game to complete but overall isn't any different to one another at all. There are also some fun little shooting minigames to do.

Achievements are all story related and so is easy to get as long as you finish the game.

Summary
An interesting old Egyptian boardgame with unique rules and complexity.

Pros
+ Interesting
+ Casual fun

Cons
- Luck based

Overview
Egyptian Senet is a strategy boardgame that is older than many of the ones we know today and is similar to snakes & ladders as we need to move from one end of the board to the other. It is much more complex though and there are some extra rules to the game and you can directly sabotage the other player to get ahead.
Unlike snakes & ladders you have 7 pieces to move to the end of the board where there are also spaces that has effects that can move you back spaces, etc. Like many games that involves dice though in Senet you throw 4 sticks to determine the moves, there is a degree of chance that can change your advantage in the game no matter how well you strategize and unfortunately luck plays quite a big role at times.

It is quite an interesting game though a little complex to learn at the beginning.
