Enough reviews mention the amount of bugs and UI issues mainly things like not being able to tell what age a building is from or quickly open the Civipedia for a unit/building.

I got it mainly just to play a metroidvania and the art style was interesting. The gameplay, and music were far better than expected. The story was ok, but wasn't the biggest driver for me.

This evolves the Persona format to a new level and makes the scheduling loose enough that there is no need for a guide to max our links. The story kept going without being bogged down by filler and enough twists to keep things interesting. The soundtrack alone keeps you interested just to hear new regional music. Easily my favorite game this year.

I should have waited for this and skipped out on Diablo 4

Too repetitive, if I can't keep interest in it after an hour then I'm not going to invest much more time into it. Probably better in a group, but definitely not solo.

Story, pacing, gameplay, this game was far better than I was expecting. I don't often play games to completion because I have so many, but the story was extremely interesting with various unexpected aspects and escalations that kept me going. Easily one of the games I have sunken the most consistent hours into in a while.

Doesn't really add that much 2 tomes, a dragon ruler, and new skins is pretty disappointing. I got the season pass since I expected the dlc to be in line with previous entries, but this is just lacking. It could at least have new traits for all heroes as well as new cultures.

Overall a solid 4x that improves on many things that were in previous Age of Wonders games. The only real complaints is that it takes modding to make races feel more unique than just being a skin with 2 traits. Missing the ability to forge items when the AI seems to magically get items for their heroes out of nowhere is frustrating though.
