the menus are a bit cluttered and bombard you with a million silly useless things
just ignore them all and play the bloons lol

Pretty fun deckbuilder, you can add on expansions bit by bit for variety. Too many expansions seems unfun (could be a git gud situation, or a "its fun if you've played for years" sorta thing), but just having the first 3-5 is real good.

Very simple rules, but somewhat complex decision making, but also a lot of randomness that means sometimes you just win or lose regardless of who played better (that's card games for you, I guess). This isn't entirely a bad thing though, as friends that play the game less will have a more fun time having a chance to win. And the better player will win a higher percentage of the time anyway.

Some things about the game code are a bit ♥♥♥♥♥. Some UI choices are clunky or unintuitive. It's pretty easy to get used to them and forget the issues, but it's very glaringly obvious when you try to teach a new player and they spend 3 minutes trying to figure out why they can't play cards on their turn.

its a well made game and some runs are pretty crazy but

-no enemy variety after five hours or so
-no boss variety after getting to each area
-maxing out the upgrades doesnt take super long (sort of a blessing and a curse)

pros:
-not randomly generated as far as i can tell, so theres a designed path and no required guessing. maybe none at all and i messed up a few times
-quadrillion billion levels, and difficulty scales at a very reasonable degree, though a bit slow to ramp up
-good game design

cons:
-poopy doodoo soundtrack. just absolutely awful
-controls arent great. left / right click to activate tiles, but also left or right click DRAG to move around the screen. so, if you click for a tiny bit too long and drag your mouse a nanometer, it cancels you clicking the tile and just moves your screen a little
-really badly designed "punishment" system. far too easy to guess. you dont ever explode like minesweeper, they just recover a few of the tiles u uncovered, and the solution stays the same. do your best to never guess. if you think you need to, you NEVER have to. think harder. the game doesnt do good about making that clear.

game is so sick though
fire asf. really hope it gets finished some day. only about an hour playtime and a tiny bit of replay value, but the writing (though not the spelling) is stellar and fun and also surprisingly advanced

very fun and very chill. meta gets a bit stagnant and highrolley but who cares about meta in a game about smacking animals together? lots of fun for casual, competitive, and between.
good with friends tho needs work on the versus format, but its pretty aight for now.

bugs out sometimes a bit. not much tho.
this game's rules feel very natural if youve come from Battlegrounds or similar games, but the tutorial isnt great for new players and may take them quite a bit to get it all. but the game is simple so, its very figure-out-able. def needs a better tutorial though. also some pretty unclear interactions that can fug ya over.

not infinite replay value but the amount of fun you DO get is honestly insane.
