The crossplay and the aim assist makes playing this on PC less fun than I would like. Let me turn crossplay off.

Game is absolutely excellent, but on launch day many of us get Crashes To Desktop, myself included. I don't mind, the good devs will fix it soon as we send in crash reports.

Lived up to the hype. Phenomenal resurrection of the Half-Life series. <3

An example of what not to do

Edited for the Jul17th update: Progression system is improved, performance is still excellent. The 60fps feels smoother and more responsive than most any other 60fps locked game I've played, near zero stutter.

My 60fps gripes still stand, but I'll concede that engine is rock solid and makes it quite tolerable for most high Hz gamers, except for maybe those with neurosensory disorders.

Still waiting on 4:3 support. Playing in 1920x1440 on a Multiscan 520GS with letterboxes still. Eventually with full 4:3 support I'll probably build an arcade machine for the Ubermosh series. Maybe I'll have to hack it, who knows what the future holds.

The other limitation is this game is HARD CAPPED to 60fps. At high level play, this title is SO fast, that a solid 60fps simply isn't fast enough to handle all the action on screen. You WILL die to subframe cheese that goes unrendered between frames. If this game were balanced around the 60fps cap, it would otherwise be fine, but this fps cap is a skill cap for all players.

My other gripe: The dev states this is a retro shooter, both in gameplay and in engine limitations. If this were a true retro shooter, I could play this game in 4:3 resolutions on my CRT. But I cannot. I get letterboxed and the game refuses to render at my resolutions. Most if not all retro shooters I've played on PC in the past 20 years have also allowed for higher than 60fps.

Game's worth the price tag now IMO, the gameplay circle is enjoyable again.

I play it on my CRT at like 480p 160hz, or 800x600 @ 150hz
It's a dream. Holy cow I couldn't be happier. o.o
