Dragon Age II is a mess and I absolutely adore it. It's some of the rawest environments, characters, and combat BioWare has ever delivered. Kirkwall is a dump, your companions are delusional wrecks, and the torment never ceases.

Day one impressions, as a game its quite enjoyable so far. Combat has a nice flow, abilities and skill trees seem well balanced and mechanically interesting. Companions being glorified secondary weapons is disappointing from a conceptual level, but works well in game, allowing for the player character to have a more extensive skill tree and your companions have pruned trees based on their selective list of abilities.

It will never be Origins, but at least its not failing at pretending to be Origins like Inquisition was, and for that bit of honesty, BioWare deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Elden Ring DLC is a lot like the previous DLCs for Fromsoft games. Its easily their best content in both presentation and content. However, like previous Fromsoft DLCs they also have high enemy hp and damage scaling, which is further exacerbated by the NG+ cycle. It pisses me off in a way that I haven't felt since Artorias of the Abyss.

Spore is probably the only game I would go through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you have to do in order play a game from 2008.

Its not a perfect creature creator tool, but its certainly the best creature creator game. The preservation of the Sporepedia and millions of creations since 2008 was unbelievable. Seeing my old creations from my childhood account was magical.

That said, buy it on Origin or whatever EA's platform is called now. Having to find your CD Key is not only annoying, but also possibly not functional anymore (I havent found a solution to the %CDKEY% problem.)

I like the Yuan Bo campaign on release, and the additions are pretty nice. The Ostankya campaign is a lot more enjoyable with the new lore, the Druzhina lord, and the new low tier infantry. The Changeling campaign is fun at first but never really pulls me in, its just fighting the same couple sieges repeatedly until you can leave the most boring part of the Immortal Empires map. The additions don't do much to change that, its kind of just a disconnect between the faction mechanic and the core gameplay loop of tww3.
As for price,. 5 or 10 more dollars once a year is by and large the smallest and least disruptive example of inflation in my life.
Overall, its pretty good if you like Cathay and Kislev.

The game is a lot of fun but also a huge magnet for complaining Redditors.

Probably the greatest game Ubisoft has ever made or will ever make.

Spent ten hours downloading the game and then it froze on the menu showing the new content in the update, verified the game files through steam and it deleted all the files I spent ten hours downloading.

For a licensed spin off game, the game both an interesting progression of Total War gameplay and a great adaptation of the Warhammer Fantasy world. Magic is really fun and can be cheesy (Winds of Death gamer moment). Despite some balance issues (which they have been fixing) and a lot of DLC, the game is still really enjoyable for fans of Warhammer Fantasy or Total War. Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2 are, and I mean this literally, the best Warhammer products released last decade.

Dont play without an SSD though.
