Hotline Milwaukee, I don't understand the controls. But it smells like Milwaukee. Accurate documentary style gameplay.

It came with a light up skeleton statue. What's not to love?

Weapons are responsive, the gore is satisfying, and the action is suberb, and even the sound is great. My only issue so far is that the sound in the campagin tends to stutter at times, especially if new sounds are being introduced. Long load times between levels are also occuring for me, at which point I'm not sure if this is a universal issue or something on my side.

Regardless, it's fun as hell to fight like hell. I plan On writing a more in depth review later.

I haven't done much with Snap Map yet. But friends of mine, this is a very fun game so far. Check it out if you can.

Early Access Review
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online is a First-Person Shooter set in the Ghost in the Shell universe from Nexon, a company well known for Pay 2 Win schemes and titlkes that will leave many infuriated with the levels of crap that would otherwise be thrust upon them. However, so far it seems that the game is taking a more CS:GO like approach in that your money is more apt to be spent on cosemtic features, such as skins. Thus, the equipment is earned via in-game currency given out after matches and when you level up, which appears, so far, to even things out. In a way, this system is resemblent of a Call of Duty progression system.

A team based shooter, it offers several team-play modes and a more basic Team Deathmatch mode. Players can choose to play as characters from the GitS:SAC series, each of which has a special ability that offers some variety in gameplay. Even in a TDM setting, some of these skills encourage players to stick together and work together to beat the enemy team. This is enforced by some abilites allowing multiple allies to "sync up" and share an ability (Such as Motoko's disguise ability), so anyone who syncs up can reap the benefits. While perhaps nothing that new, the ability systems works rather well, and a well organized ability ambush can be devastating to an ill-maintained team.

Obviously, the main draw of the game is its use of the GitS name and the appearance of the show's characters and iconogrophy. A mix up of several types of multiplayer shooters, the game is certainly mneant to appeal to fans of the show. However, those looking for a solid shooter shouldn't be dissapointed either, although they may find a better game elsewhere that does everything this game does even better. It might not be an anime-styled cyberpunk shooter, but that is more or less this title's draw.

As the game stands, it has most of what I imagine the finished product will have. Movement is rather janky at times, and certain actions can restrict movement. Although it's not impossible to use melee attacks, in fact they can be effective, they are nonetheless difficult to pull off to the point where it seems that the system isn't entirely perfected.

Overall, I'd recommend trying the game on a free weekend or picking it up on a sale. I've had fun with the game so far. I'm interested in the final version.

Black Ops is proof that CoD can be a fun series... When it's handled by Treyarch. Overall an improvement over Modern Warfare 2, while also serving as well written and well performed sequel to World at War. The combat is smoother, it (the game) looks slicker and is more colorful, and the singleplayer is probably the tightest in the franchise up to this point. The multiplayer also remains a highlight, being a huge improvement over the previous titles, and I'd argue better than any of the later titles. It's the single-most solid CoD entry, apart from the original and Modern Warfare.

The few cons, though, primarily rest in the multiplayer. Although it may be the best laid out version of the famous game mode, there are some balancing issues in terms of some weapons; namely the FAMAS. Now, for the most part, if a weapon is over-powered, then use it. The issue with it is the whole leveling up system, which means that newer players either rely on luck, the also powerful MP5K, or try to find maps where there aren't too many FAMAS players.

In addition, the CoD Points system is a great idea, but could have been better implemented. For example, what's the point of obtaining points when all of the weapons are still locked by level requirements? You might earn a lot of CoD Points, but they're useless if you want a weapon you need several more levels to unlock with. EIther leveleing should open up more than one thing to buy, thus giving you more options to spend your money on at a time in the early and later games (Note that mid game more things do become unlocked at a stime, but this usually centers around different logo layers or reticules, all of which are cosmetic features). Note that when you do buy a weapon, you have all of the attachements unlocked. You just need to spend CoD Points on them. That makes sense, but why only the attachments? This mode could have worked better, but still does some things right. Overall, the redundancy of parts of the point system can still be overlooked.

Ultimately, we're still looking at one of CoD's more solid modern gen entries, and I'd suggest picking it up. Good servers can be difficult to find (There's a ton of so-called "Tactical Crouch Servers," and other servers ban game elements outright), but with or without, the singleplayer and the Co-Op Zombies mode are also very fun to play.

(NOTES: Aside from the PC, I've also played this game far more extensively on the PS3 and Nintendo Wii, totalling more than a hundred or more hours)

Pitting a Tesla Goat against a Giant Raptor with a rocket platform on its back has never been more entertaining than the way it's done here. Then again, I can't think of any other game with where you can pit a Tesla Goat against a Giant Raptor with a rocket platform on its back.

Probably one of the greatest time and money sinks that Valve has ever come up with -- Other than Steam itself -- Team Fortress still holds up years after its original release, regardless of what anyone is telling you. Yes, the hats start to get annoying and sometimes just a bit too flashy, but it still retains a brand of humor that is wholly unique in what it does.

For those unfamiliar, TF2 is a Class Based Shooter, based on the Team Fortress mod for Quake and Team Fortress Classic, which was a mod for the original Source Engine. A CBS is commonly a First-Person shooter, such as Enemy Territory, Battlefield, and Battlefront, although some CBS titles, like Battle of Heros, is a Third-Person shooter. TF2 is the former. Unlike the example titles, however, both teams are exactly the same, and neither side has any kind of special unit or weapon that's only available for that side (Unlike Battlefront giving each of the four factions a Unique Unit with Unique weapons). There are nine classes in total: Scout, Pyro, Soldier, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy. This is also quite a few more classes than some other game have had (Again as an example: Battlefront had only six classes per team, and some Battlefield titles, such as Hardline, only have four classes). Although it is a lot of classes, each one carries a bit of weight, and can be very important to a team (Although in general play, teams will have multiple members of each class, and some cases one class will not even exist during a game).

The Scout is a fast moving class that can get in close with a shotgun and blast enemies at close range, and then quickly pull out to evade a counter-attack. The soldier, while slow moving, is armed with a very powerful rocket launcher. The Pyro moves fairly quickly, and needs to get close to make use of his flamethrower. These are considered to be the offensive classes, and are meant to push for an objective.

The Demoman can create explosive traps with sticky bombs, and has excellent melee capabilities. The Heavy wields a minigun and has a very high amount of health, which makes up for his slow walk. The Engineer can build ammunition dispensers and automated turrets which will shoot any nearby enemies. These are the defensive classes, and are used to hold a position (Although Heavies, when paired with a medic, can also turn into a menacing offensive force).

The Medic, as the name suggests, heals team-mates in the thick of battle. Snipers, again as the name suggests, use a sniper rifle to pick off enemies from a safe distance. Spies can cloak themselves and get behind enemy lines to take out deadly players with a swift one-hit-kill backstab with a knife. These are the support classes, and are meant to help the rest of the team succeed.

As mentioned this game has objective based gameplay, such as capturing points, stealing intelligence (Capture the Flag), King of the Hill, and several kinds of demolition based missions. So, probably not as advanced as an Enemy Territory game, but probably a bit more mission related flesh than a Battlefront game.

So if you like team based class shooters, give TF2 a try. The base game is free, and the cosmetics are optional. There are a lot of extra weapons available to all players, and new content is added semi regularly, though mostly in the form of cosmetics. Sometimes new weapons are added too. Also, the community is still quite large, and community servers host a barrage of custom maps and content that can enhance the experience.

Although DosBox is pretty lame, this is still a classic and fun shoot 'em up. You can't freely save whenever you want, however, unlike other games from this time frame.

CS:GO Review
If TF2 is the best hat simulator, then this is the best "Paint on a Gun" simulator.
