This is a game I honestly adore. The character customization is fantastic, the combat is some of the best I've seen in an MMO, and the world is beautiful and a lot of fun to explore. Doesn't matter how much time I sink into it, I'll always be able to come back looking forward to playing more.
I've made it to the lategame content, but I still don't understand what people are talking about when they call it pay to win. There's no way to "buy" better gear other than outfits, and outfits are negligible other than for style... (which, mind you, the outfit design is absolutely beautiful and worth the money in a lot of cases)
This game is really up to the eye of the beholder, though. Really cheap for the amount of content you get, and it's constantly on sale for some pretty low prices. If you're deciding on whether or not you should try it, the answer is probably a yes no matter who you are.

I don't often write reviews, but WOW.
This game is absolutely incredible. The story is written perfectly, the visuals are absolutely gorgeous, the SOUNDTRACK is amazing, and the designs of both the spirits and regular enemies are fantastic. I have absolutely no complaints.
11/10. It's been a long time since I've appreciated a game this much.

Hands down the best anime fighting game series I've ever played. I really can't get enough of it, and I honestly can't wait until they port the next game to Steam.

They put quite a bit of work into the stories behind the characters, even if you have to play the previous game to get most of it. Each character has a really cool personality that's different from all the others and you really will get attached to your main after seeing their different victory quotes after every round you win. It's not terribly complex or anything, more or less just a bit better than what you'd normally expect from an anime fighting game.

The gameplay is literally do or die. When you get good with combos you'll start to realize that once you get one started, it usually lasts long enough to get your opponent to around 25% health. *cough* SETH *cough*
They also have a really cool mechanic. Basically, you have a thing called a Guard Meter at the bottom of the screen between both players' health that fills up as you pressure your opponent and stay close to them. Moving back will make your meter go down. After a certain point, while you have meter, you'll be able to perform something called a Chain Shift. Basically, this consumes your meter to immediately cancel all lag, allow you to cancel into another move, and increases your EXS Gauge based on how much meter you consumed when you performed this. It's the best way to continue your supposed-to-end combos into longer ones.
Then of course, you have the EXS Gauge, which I mentioned earlier. Just like every other super gauge in anime fighting games. By pressing C (on the fight pad) you'll consume part of it to turn whatever move you were using into an EXS variant, which will do much more damage and has more invincibility.
And finally, each character has their own cool cutscene when they do their Infinite Worth, which is their strongest move, consuming 200% of the EXS Gauge. Some last longer than others, but it boils down to the fact that it looks exactly like what you'd want to see from a character's most powerful move.

All in all, I'd give this game a 9/10. It has a couple small points that could be changed, and the netcode is pretty ♥♥♥♥. Other than that, everything else about it is amazing.

This is probably one of the best bullet hell games I've ever played hands down. I can't get enough of how the Break score counter works and I love the Type-Z fighter, it's a lot of fun. I'd recomment this for literally anyone that likes vertical scrollers or bullet hells.

Hell bids you enter. Victory may come slowly, painfully... Or perhaps not at all. But seek this despair, and you will be rewarded....

Zenodyne R is ruthless and unforgiving, but the satisfaction of beating cruel and heartless levels will leave you hungering for more.

9/10

This game brings back my childhood. I always used to (and still do on occasion) play Strikers 1945 at the arcade at the local beach. These games (Zenohell and Zenodyne R) are just like that one and are some of the best retro style bullet hell/vertical scrolling shooters I've ever played hands down. Get them if you like bullet hell games.

This game is actually one of my favourites ever, I absolutely love the gameplay, storyline, and characters.

Gameplay
It's a fast paced side scroller that is all about hype. Once you get your Kudos to 1000 the music and screen changes and it's worth it to keep is there, despite how hard it may be sometimes. The tagging and shocking enemies may seem a little tedious at the beginning but it gets to be more fun later on. There are a good share of secrets (hidden characters and gems) that can be pretty damn hard to get sometimes (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, GEM IN THE FRICKIN BIOCHEM PLANT) and unlockables such as new guns and abilities for you to try out and have fun with, so if you want to get everything it'll take a minimum of 25 hours or so.

Story/Characters
Ehhhh... The story isn't amazing, but it's pretty good. Although the CHARACTERS have a lot put into them. I'm not just talking about the conversations between Joule and Gunvolt, although those are the characters with the most story and personality. They put a lot of work into the conversations during the missions if you decide to do the japanese voices with english subs, and if you really want to look into their backstories, Inti Creates has a short story of each of their backstories online.

Okay, maybe the port isn't the greatest (this was originally a 3DS game) but if you grab a good controller and some headphones this game can be a great experience.

Oh yeah, and AZURE STRIKER GUNVOLT 2 HYPE!!!
