Something weird and wonderful is in the air when a Warhammer game and Starship Troopers are released near each other and are both shockingly awesome. Teenage Choir of VVolves is ripping and tearing in spirit right now. Has the eternal curse been broken?

The biggest compliment that I can give this game is that it's a worthy and wholly better successor to the original. That's because the original felt like a perfectly told story in a minorly flawed package. I was incredibly skeptical at how they would add anything to the story but left feeling completed and humbled. Shorter sister to Hollow Knight - hand drawn, made with love, exceptional music and controlling, phenomenally (simple) story telling, but Ori is a much more condensed and curated experience.

My play time obviously deceives this review but what it comes down to is that the original/base game was a fantastic entry point for anybody starting the series that didn't require ridiculous grinds to get equipment/decorations and felt like it had somewhere really promising to go with it's inevitable expansion.

If only the expansion wasn't a grind to 200 on top of a grind to 300 on top of a grind I would likely recommend it, but as it stands the expansion adds two new zones and monster variants like "spider but red! and fire!" that's really it. Previous game added "raid" enemies as end game content, this just released what I guess could be considered the singular raid type boss thus far and it's kind of just a reskin+ couple moves last boss from MHR? Just with extra elemental attack? Soooooooo borrrrriiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggg

Another case of me being absolutely baffled by the "overwhelmingly positive" rating - Its a cute lil game you should grab on sale if you like old SNES style side scrolling shooters, but some absolutely baffling design decisions and being less clever than BROFORCE makes it hard to recommend to non retro fans.

Favorite strategy game series ever. Bar none.

With all three games (Immortal Empires) and the workshop, I don't think I ever need another large scale strat game. Unless they make a Warhammer IV.

The elephant in the room is the horribly overpriced DLC program. We're now at $8.99 for a SINGLE lord. Previous community messages at the time of the "mixed" "mostly negative" reviews threatened us with making the product we've already bought worse. Since then, there's been consistent communication and they've beefed up some of the offerings. That said, we're likely going to see the Total War series flensed because of corporate and the pushback to their money grubbing.

I'm sure you'll read or hear all about it from your favorite rage bait-tuber if you're interested. It's still the greatest (Warhammer) strat game I've ever played. I just wish there was a little more of the scenarios from II.

Only worth playing if you're a HUGE FF7 fan AND are just really itching to see the Kalm story from FF7 retold with some additional background of Zack. I didn't get anything new or revolutionary from this but probably would have loved it if I owned a PSP years ago.

Many of the systems are poorly thought out or haven't aged well; there's been some modernizing (mostly graphics) but by the 'end game' (rehashed same four mission locations over and over 100 times) the game feels underdeveloped and sidelined and incomplete.

Cool idea behind the superboss but likely thee most ridiculous superboss I've experienced in a long time as well, 77777777 health, all instant 99999 hits, and a fundamental playstyle change. Not in the fun way like Weiss was in FF7R.

I'm not a Marvel movie or "cape ♥♥♥♥" movie fan but this is EASILY the coolest superhero/comic adaptation I've ever seen.
