I'm two missions in and not quite sure how they're going to have nanomachines explain what the **** I've just seen.

UPDATE 10/23/15: I'm now a hundred hours with all missions completed and **SPOILER ALERT** I still have no answers to my initial questions and no knowledge of what the **** Boss has been doing this whole time.

Masters of a Broken Game.

With each update, the Diablo fans have transcended Blizzard in a way that shouldn't be free.

Yet, somehow, their devs have become Blizzard.

I struggle to think of a company that has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in the way they have other than Blizzard; having a game at the literal top of the genre slide down the hill over QoL changes not implemented over years, giving proper updates and fixes to ONLY CHINA, and creating new mechanics to not fully replace but kind of cover old mechanics that lead to new glitches.

Absolute ♥♥♥♥ company who never fixes their games leagues or servers but jerks off streamers to get past queues so they can dupe and exploit for an entire guild.

The final boss might be you making an Ancestry.com account to ensure certain branches of your family tree weren't living near a tower shortly before you were born.

I got word from someone pretty high up in the company that the next DLC is going to be the game studio breaking into your safehouse and taking all of your money and the only way you can get it back is completing 10 worthless missions a day or by paying $5.99 (but you do get one free mask out of it and the rest you'll have to unlock with achievements or random luck) one time....

...and then in a week because they decided there should be a new character
...and then the next week because the guns or characters they created don't have enough skins
...and then the next week because the character they created doesn't have enough skins
...and then the next week because it's a holiday and they don't already have enough masks
...and then the next week because someone said on a forum or reddit "why aren't there world war 2 guns?" so *$^& it, next week WW2 guns and 10 masks for $4.99.
...and then the next week because there's not weapons from 1874 in the game so "it's CLEARLY not realistic"
...and then the next week because there's a new mission where you get something you got in the other DLC, but with inverted colors.

...But next week! There's a DLC where you're a cop and have to link your PayPal account while simulatanously holding down a "king of the hill" style location...

...but, you didn't buy the DLC that allows you to throw grenades, so you're doomed. Because you expected to be able to throw grenades. But that button is DLC.

And you wonder how else they could have transcended this imaginary line between the necessary and the ridiculous, but it could be worse, the next DLC may allow you to peek around corners or move diagonally.

Throughout each of these updates, officers have been buffed to the point of superhuman stature and can absorb unprecidented amounts of non-DLC bullets but will fall very quickly to DLC bullets, because DLC weapons. Rarely improvements to the game other than a new mission or piece of one, but a new movie or new YouTuber is coming up? Better fix them into the game. Better make another mask pack.

and then, MICROTRANSACTIONS to further distance you from putting in any time or effort to this game. only stopped when the community opposed and freaked the hell out, so they were removed. instead, more updates and then an "ultimate edition" and "more promises" that "things are coming" and "free" and "you're not getting *$(^ed in this" and they're right, that's a GOTY edition thing. this isn't a GOTY thing, it's an "ultimate edition" before the "remaster" or "definitive" on another console in another few years with more exclusive john wick-esque dlc because this isn't really a game, it's a DLC loader.
