This is one of those games that makes you feel like a kid again. As you lay down to go to sleep all you can think about is what you are going to do next with your fort. When you get up in the morning its still all you can think about it and you are counting down the hours until you can kick back and play it.

I went into this game semi blind. I watched one tutorial on the basics and pulled the trigger. People talk about how complex the game is, but its not so complex where you have no idea where to start. It appears that the complexity is what keeps you coming back because there is so much variety in things to do. One fort could be focused on farming, another on crafts, etc. With a little bit of time anyone can pick this game up now (thanks to the mouse support and new UI), but it is clear that it will take days upon days and forts upon forts to learn just how much this game has to offer.

It is a shame that there are some performance issues, but let me tell you, this game is fantastic. The only other game I have been this invested in recently was Half Life Alyx. I've already sunk nearly 11 hours into my character and I am still exploring the first area. This is easily the best open world map I've ever played. Usually the open world feels barren in most games and feels like filler, but the open world is the game in Elden Ring. There are things to find around every corner. The combat feels great, it is quite the challenge, and it just flows so well. If you are remotely interested, I'd say give it a try. I have followed some tutorials online to reduce stuttering and so far so good. You shouldn't have to modify things in a game to prevent stuttering, but oh well, its patchable. The game its self does not feel half baked or buggy.

I've honestly been having a great time with this game. A feature that is great about it is I can play from steam, my web browser, or my phone. I primarily have been playing on my phone while I am on the go. Its addictive and has a charm to it that most idle games lack

All I have to say is actually believe the hype on this one

I'm not sure what people are loving about the game. In my opinion this game does nothing great. The gameplay, gun play, and story are all mediocre. I went in with zero expectations, and I was still let down. Don't get my started on performance either. Half the time the game runs great and half the time the game is chugging. It feels like it is going for a Rage 2 approach but Rage 2 actually had some things it did very well (and yes some that it didn't do well). Overall I have found the game to be bland and forgettable so far

Happy 16th Birthday to one of, if not the greatest game of all time! Still holds up so well in 2020.
