I guess I picked this up in a bundle nine months ago, and I was told 1.0 was coming soon, so I figured I would install and try it out for the first time to see how things are along with all the free weekenders...

Game loads up on the wrong (secondary) screen, blinks then minimizes. Lots of background music playing. Stays minimized. Can't play a game minimized.

Uninstalled.

I checked the Bug Report forum and saw threads regarding the wrong monitor issue dated back in January without the developers reacting to it, but I'm sure it's very known to them too. As mentioned above, this game was part of a bundle so my expectations weren't high to begin with, but if 1.0 is just around the corner tinyBuild needs to start cracking some whips before the release.

I love this game, it's pretty addicting, but...

It feels like an Early Access title with minor bugs, a lot of potential for skill trees, buildings and wildlife.

It even gets frequent updates like an Early Access title; sometimes I forget about the game until it gets an update, I play it until I encounter another bug. Repeat.

That being said, I would still recommend it. Lots of replayability.

I guess I completed 100 levels in less than 100 minutes, spent some time trying to figure out how to switch out of full screen and into window mode (which I don't think it has, otherwise that's the hardest puzzle in the game).

Compared to LYNE, this can't go diagonal and there's no challenge. Easy 500+ achievements.
Can't really complain about the price.

Purchased in 2014; Cleared and unlocked all the achievements back in 2015. I've played a few more Line games since then (2018), but this is still the most challenging and rewarding game of it's type.

TL;DR: Early Access, 90 updates in 10 months, devloper is open to criticism and suggestions, $5 base price can't go wrong, even better if you catch it on sale.

Project Explore at first, sounds and looks like an exploration/walking simulator, but it's basically a top-down survival game similar to Don't Starve; there's a hunger/thirst meter, health and sanity which you have to maintain through items such as food and water, first-aid and entertainment (mainly from books). Crafting is very straightforward with an in-game recipe, which may make the survival aspect less challenging. The game is heavy on exploring and that's where Sanity comes to play because in order to continue exploring you need to stay sane. While other survival games use Stamina or Temperature as means of survival, Project Explore uses Sanity, which I find interesting and hope to see more depth coming from it as it develops.

There's been massive updates and the game is slowly getting better, my first impression was a top-down Minecraft, but visually and technically it's turning into Don't Starve. There's also major visual/graphical changes around the corner so it's worth looking at the announcements. I would still recommend the game at this point, rate of progression and price, it's definitely worth following if anyone is curious about trying the game out.

It's not a clone, but it's basically a top-down version of Minecraft; you cut down trees, you build, you hunt, you eat, and you die. You also collect dirty magazines and read them to stay... sensible.

The alpha version of Project Explore was only released two days ago, so there's a lot of content missing, many items still have no function, the survival aspect is really light (no thirst meter (yet?), being able to eat everything raw, nothing despawns/respawns, no durability), but there's so much potential for this game.

Pros:
Free

Cons:
Unfriendly for the user - it's as if they are trying to avoid the word "Play" as much as possible. Registration form is unprofessional, don't even know why they want your email address.
Unfriendly for the eyes.
Unfriendly for the ears.

If you want turn-based and vehicles, Civilization has vehicles.
If you want post-apocalyptic cars with weapons, Post Apocalyptic Mayhem can draw better.

Don't even know why the game requires 250MB and 1GB ram, the game looks like it could be played on 80486 and installed with floppy disks. Turn-based and Cars (especially races?!) just don't mix. Just because turn-based is popular doesn't mean anything works. May as well make a turn-based football game!

It works, it's not bad - it's not amazing, but it's free.

Did a few quests, it's almost too easy. Feels like you have unlimited ammo and a shield that regenerates extremely fast. So far it feels like the only way you can die is from falling. The starting area will explain the playable classes and basic controls, so it's easy to get into as well.

Customization, fancy motorcycles, and companion pets cost money, otherwise it doesn't seem like a Pay-to-Win type F2PMMO.
