Lemme start off with the fact that I'm a fan of SAO, so this review is obviously going to have some bias parts to it. Come at me SAO haters. This is also my first review on this game, to let everyone know how amazing it is.


Review:

Fanservice: 10/10 Rain is best waifu, jus the kind of fan service you'd expect from SAO. And p.s don't lewd the loli
Gameplay: 8/10 Playing with a keyboard and mouse is inconvienient but it works. Combat is fast and enjoyable
Graphics: 7/10 Nothing outstanding, nice detail to character models, cutscenes are pretty and weapon + armor design are super cool (especially the legendary gear)
Customization: 9/10 Lots of different avatar options, even more battle options with the 9 different weapons and all their unique skills, buffs, and passives.
Stroy: 7/10 Kinda slow and a bit boring and confusing. It has its climaxes and stuff. But that's SAO for ya
Multiplayer: 6/10 No one really plays the multiplayer (I couldn't find any parties)
Content: 9/10 There is lots to do, especially after the main story. Lots of grinding and rewards.
Music: 8/10 A memorable soundtrack. I really enjoy how the track "Swordland" was altered to fit the mood
World: 7/10 It's large and seperated into a lot of sections, each with a mini boss. It takes longer than I want it to just to run to the next area
Difficulty: 5/10 After around lv20 you can start taking on monsters well over 30 levels above you and still beat them easy (until you finish the main story and start the DLC, that's a bit of a different story)

Pros:
- Fanservice
- A good SAO game on PC and doesn't run like ass
- Cool animated cutscenes, makes you wish there was more of them because they're so beautiful
- Comes with all the DLC so that makes the life of this game much longer
- Great combat system, fast paced and not really button mashing, ultimate skills really feel like ultimate skills
- Multiplayer system where you can d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-duel other players and participate in raids
- Lots of customization options, including the avatar, skill tree system, and party members including their class (you can make yourself look like any of the girls in Kirito's harem :D )
- Very satisfying when you pull off a long combo or kill a hard boss
- Tons of waifus to choose from, you can even take generic NPCs to dates
- You can remap the keys if you're playing with a keyboard making commands MUCH MUCH easier to manage
- Trading cards go for 50 cents, bro those are some expensive trading cards you can make a profit

Cons:
- You kinda have to watch the anime or read the manga AND have some knowledge on the previous games (Hollow Fragment, Lost Song, etc)
- TONS of grinding if you want to be the very best. I spent the first 2h trying to get my level on par with the monsters in the area. DLC requries EVEN MORE grinding because of the sudden level spike
- If your level is on par with the monsters in the area you can almost always one shot them with a skill
- Board quests are nothing special at all. There are only two types of quests: Kill X amount of X type of monster, and collect X amount of a certain material. I'm serious, that is it
- Some fps issues here and there but it goes away after restarting the game
- Becomes a visual novel at some points. Some are good but some are just boring as hell
- Tutorial sucks at explaining romance system
- Story quests give you very vague locations on where you have to go and what you have to do, this especially comes true during the DLC
- Enigma orders are boring, feel impossible to complete, and requirements are just bs. It's a good thing it's not a requirement for the game to progress
- You can't just save the game out in the open world, you have to teleport then it auto saves (if there is a way to save anywhere please correct me)
- That one bug where you float in the air and can't move (to solve this just change equip.)
- Grinding after the main story so you can attempt the DLC


Verdict:
Combat and skill system remind me of Xenobalde X, fanservice is great, music is good, good graphics, ok story and lots of customization. It's worth $55 (CAD) because you get the base game + ALL the DLC (including all the costumes although movie costumes unlock after main story). It's addicting and fun, it's hard to put down once you know what you want to do, and there is always something to do whether it's continuing the story, doing character quests, or grinding. Also did I mention that there are tons of waifus?

I don't even like one piece but warrior games are always fun
