What a game and idea and what a waste! Living in Canada I was inspired to learn more of its history and what a better game to get the feel of Samuel De Champlain and Jaques Cartier than this! But unfortunately because it's not a full game there are many limitations and easy tricks that by time will get you feel like you're just playing another turn-based game and takes you out of the historical feel of the "Discovery and Colonialism Age". Still a good game for the price 7/10.

The game is good and has a medieval taste. Campaign have elements of Total War campaign and battle mode feels like Age of Empires but overall it's a fun game.

Pretty good game, average graphics but good principle, enjoyable and has potential to be a gem. has a medievalist and a realistic feel to it, which is what buys it for me.

This review is a bit different than others as it will recommend the game from historical point of view, so, if you are a history nerd, this is the review for you!

This game is by far one of the few and best games which represented medieval feudal world especially the low tier hierarchy (Esquire - knights (Ritter) - baron - count - duke) in a very great way.
Only other game which represented them well is Kingdom Come Deliverance.
In most of other games the lowest title available would be count (CKII for example).
Despite the fantasy elements which of course doesn't count into historical accuracy, the game was able to show how medieval countryside was divided and the maps were very accurate in depicting all of its elements including villages, manors, castles, forests, bandits, market towns and cities.
Even the story-line reveals a lot about how was the day to day life in medieval societies such as peasants stories, myths, taverns, citizens of free cities and conflict of lords and intrigue.


If you want to learn better about medieval hierarchy, specially lower ranks, then this game is great for you. I highly recommend it

If you love medieval, you must grab it.
Yes it has bugs but it's still very fun and time consuming.

Some of its mods are better than Warband!

Old but still good and interesting.
Not as dense as Banished of course, but still has its own elements that can drags you to hours of playing.
I liked that they also have combat which isn't available in many city-building games, Banished included.

Though, I recommend buying it on sale.
