I'm a year late, but that doesn't matter. This game is an absolute masterpiece. It captures the zelda-like dungeons perfectly: a good mix of environmental puzzles, battles that are simple, and areas which contain unique elements or ideas that give meaning to the ways you might solve puzzles.

The social and 'life sim' elements completed the game for me honestly, as someone who rarely enjoys that kind of stuff, it was interesting to learn more about the people of Hinterberg and the town. Really just a refreshing experience.

At the time of the review I've 100% the base game, haven't touched NG+ or the free DLC but I'll return in due time. This is a game that will need lots of time to ruminate on, but I cannot wait to jump back in when the time feels right. A sequel or prequel or anything more like this is a must.

This was, is and will forever be a truly special game. I can't even begin to explain how needed yet so abrasive and harsh it was. But the messaging, the tone was all so needed. Please consider learning about making tea with Alta, you won't regret it.

Incredibly thought provoking, sincere, and emotionally charged. Play this game no matter what genre or style of game you enjoy.

Update: after even more hours in this game and replaying it many times, I can still say the game is very emotionally charged and still very, very good.

Update 2: I play this game still, every 3-4 months, to remind myself of the meaning of the game.
