Mess of a game, needs like few months and a lot of free dlcs.

Leaders being disconnected from civilizations feels awful from theme perspective, instead of having cards for bonuses they ruined the whole idea of getting a CIVILIZATION through the ages, now it feels more like a mobile age of kingdoms type game where "I CHOOSE VIKINGS TO GATHER RESOURCES EARLY" and out pops an image of Barbarossa. They also look bad from a technical standpoint, but better than VIs cartoon animals, but not much.

UI is absolute garbage, drastically needs tooltips inside text, floating buttons over the map instead of tabs or shortcuts at the top of the screen next to the inputs. Important screens hidden behind two or three other skins (your leader has skills! first you click the diplomatic summary of your leader, next to your opponents, very intuitive!)

City mechanics are fine and other changes feel fine, but again half-baked compared to any previous civ.
Army mechanics are improved with generals and stacked armies but it feels very awkward, especially in small spaces.


And you will see a lot of small spaces because map generation (which you have no control other than 3 very similar map "types") is the worst in the series, and maybe in the whole genre.

This is the gothic 3 you dream about.

Improves on the first game in all aspects, combat, writing, systems, graphics, optimization (works much better than original), controls, everything is better.

Attempt to outdo Blizzard Overwatch 2, whatever skins or gods you had are gone, but it's the same gods and skins, just not yours anymore.

Ownership rollback 10 years back hidden under engine update.

Pretty good apart from AI art, nice simple puzzles

Great framework with fast free movement, big levels and great combat system.

Once more weapons/characters/skills are added, this game will be great, it's good for all it has now.

If you like Unreal Tournament/Quake/Doom/Half Life/Wolfenstein/any classic shooters guns. you will like this game

Closest to a quake roguelike you will get, my fingers hurt
