Heavy Pay 2 Win

This game loves to waste your time with duplicate pull system that reduces your resources by a 3:1 ratio when you pull a duplicate. Best ships in the game are stacked behind needing multiples of hard to acquire ship duplicate pulls. Heaviest ships are less than 1% pull rate.

Systems are entirely designed for a pay to win format. You can narrow down to specific ships but for a very very hefty fee and you MUST do that process at least 20 times for each ship (you get 5% completion on each attempt) and each attempt costs $50 USD.

If you want to try free to play gameplay you will be pitted against whales with fully maxed out fleets and their soul purpose in life is to make the game miserable for those who don't have them maxed out. Game is full of bullies and inconsiderate people and the game devs cator to those players over anyone else.

Stay Away if you want to keep your sanity.

This game feels terrible to play.

There is a bit going on that I admit I do not understand, but that is the crux of the problem. It's not FUN to learn it. It's a giant headache.

Early game pacing is a nightmare and it always feels like the AI is just straight up cheating.

IDK what to offer in terms of how they could fix this mess, but this is a giant miss for me.

I tried selecting the LONGER gameplay options but it feels just as fast paced as the fast gameplay option..

There is a lot of thigns to attempt to do, but you have ZERO time to do it due to pacing.

EA is so far meeting expectations. a few bugs here and there which is to be expected. Having a blast using Witch and looking forward to content yet to come!

UPDATE: Dawn of the Hunt update 0.2 shook up the status quo and swung a big nerf bat at all the broken builds. Starting over from scratch in SSF and I'm using Witch again, going LICH and minions are still feeling perfectly good. A lot of people upset that their builds are broken, but IDK why they lash out on a review board about it. I think the game is in a good state and on course for a decent and timely 1.0 release early 2026.

It's fun, Free, and tons to do, and fun, and Free.

Yes, you can pay for additional stuff, but who cares, you can play for free.

In my opinion it's a nice hybrid of two other very popular games, and I am enjoying it a lot.

Yes, but...

So many things to complain about, but ultimately it's still a decent game. Decent... but not Great.

My biggest gripe is how often you have to go through loading screens... the entire game was designed around fast travel, and unfortunately due to this everything is behind loading screens. The rest of the gameplay (once you get to it) is ok.

The Enemy AI is just as stupid as every other Bethesda game, so don't expect too much there.

Space combat is straightforward, shoot enemy ship until they explode, before they explode you. Very little depth. Tons of weapons to choose from for flavor, but you can only ever utilize 3 types at any given moment.

Plenty of side quests to do, but most of them are anywhere from 1 to 3 steps. Not very many epic saga's to embark upon. Most rewards are pitiful and ultimately meaningless. Reputation is non-existent and irrelevant. If you want to be a pirate you just pay a credit fee to walk in the towns again... really lame.

Mod support is lacking, and in fact Bethesda went out of their way to make modding for the game a royal pain.
Creation Club is a joke. $7 to buy 1 quest to get just a unique skin which you will never use because its pointless.

The only reason I say yes, is because it's at least 40 hours + of content for a standard price. It's worth playing. If you liked the other Bethesda titles, then you will like this one as it plays exactly the same.

One of the best games to come through Steam's Early Access program ever. Change my mind.

For the value of $40 this is a huge upgrade to ASE. The new QoL features and visual updates from UE5 are outstanding. Feels like a solid upgrade.

A couple of bugs, which will be fixed hopefully, such as crashing to desktop when opening inventories, however they are few and far between.

Logged in 40 hours now and only 3 crashes. Pretty good for Early Access launch...

Is good game.

Still being worked on, and is not yet complete, but for any RPG fans familiar with how dnd mechanics work, this is a good one.

I't fun and different at first, but If you are like me looking for a remake/better option than the Sid Meier's Gettysburg version do not buy this. You will just be disappointed.
