I REALLY love the game.

Unfortinutely it's not fully what i expected, as i expected to have mechanics seen in snow/mud runner in the game, and while they are, the game feels more arcade-like. Not to say it's bad, it's great, but not fully what i expected.

Still a amazing game for my fellow simulator addicts? Very.

I have absolutely zero regrets buying this.

I bought it thinking it was just another shooter, but it's so much more than that.
This game WILL be compared to Freeman: Guerrilla warfare, and rightfully so due to their similarities, but this feels much more like a direct upgrade.

I havent experienced the main-campaign focus of the game, rather sticking to the Tactical campaigns, which is basically one big Team-deathmatch. It's stupidly fun.

I got really high hopes for this games future.

my ONLY complaint is:
[1] It would be nice to have a propper tutorial mission that breaks down each gamemode and how to play it.
[2] Gun sounds could use some rework.

A tried and true method:
If your game is popular and gets a lawsuit, you're doing it right.

On a more serious note, i do love the game. It's grindy, but the kind of grindy that keeps you playing.

I only play MoW and CtA for the PvE exclusively, and they are just extremely fun to play with.

Sadly a rather simplistic gunsmithing simulator.
World Of Guns continues to be the #1 standard in accuracy, while this game /really/ dumbs it down.

If you're just interested in a casual gunsmithing simulator, then this is a good choice,
but if you want the a more realistic experience in terms of (Dis)assembly, Get World Of Guns, and probably the 'Unlock all' pass.

It may be a dated game, and costly if you get the pass, but it's still being worked on constantly as the catalouge is constantly expanded.

A /really/ solid framework.

The game is concerningly well made for its 0.1 release today, and runs amazingly smooth, FAR better than any other day-one release game i've seen.

HOWEVER
I NEED to clerify that currently this IS just a framework at the time of writing this.
If you're here for SE2 and expecting it to be as finished as SE1, then you are gravely mistaken.

Overall, i love this.

Among the many RTS games i have played, the campaign of this is #1 on that spot.

Usually i hate stealth but this game makes it engaging. Its difficult, but solving it is ever so satisfying.
I definitely want to play the next game now, once i have the funds to buy it.

Sadly a big let down...

Firstly i want to say this:
Adding mods FIXES the game.
nontheless, they should be required to fix it in the first place.

I've never been a massive STALKER fan, but the gameplay has unfortinutely felt like a letdown.

The game is plauged with many issues, and i don't want to go into detail, so here are the big pointers i have that i hope to see fixed:

[1 HP]
You feel like a glass house, whilst everyone else feels like bulletproof glass house.
In other words, you die very quickly, while the enemies take a quarter of a magazine to kill, unless its a headshot (but engagements are usually 50-150 meters)

[2 Bugs]
Jesus christ the bugs.
I haven't tested the 1.2 update yet, but i've played the game for a bit and got softlocked. i had to cheat my way pass it.

[3 FPS]
While not somthing i had trouble with, it has come to my attention that this game is very demanding on your PC. I luckily was able to run it, AND stream it at 40-60FPS.

[4 Stealth]
It just doesn't exist.

I mean it DOES, but it feels like its insanely discouraged due to how pointless it is, seeing that you get spoted 100 meters away and shot on sight.

[5 Lack ammo]
Early-game wise, ammo was a complete struggle, and unless you looted it off of bodies, you'd be hardpress to find any.

this is ESPECIALLY bad for non-common weapon types.

[6 Damage]
This adds into [1], but the damage firearms you shoot give are so dissapointing.
Shotguns, last i checked, are litterally useless in the game due to how horrible their damage is, and unless they are 3 meters from you (yes i really mean that) you won't kill them.

Overall?
The game HAS potential, but it's been extremely rocky so far.
The Bugs and lack of damage for guns is my biggest issue, and makes me feel like its intended just to make firefights last longer, to increase play time.

Great, but a long road ahead.
7/10

The elephant in the room
this is discussed often and it's only fair that i do address this;
Compared to the other CDLC's, this one does unfortunately lack the amount of content the other CDLC's have. Albeit, i try to consider the factors played when making this DLC.

This is a Vanilla+ CDLC, that purely serves to expand naval operations in the Arma 3 Altis conflict. With that kept in mind, i treat this CDLC different, because it's not creating a new era of war, or expanding whole new factions. It's adding onto pre-existing lore.

With that out of the way...
Why do i love it?

Naval warfare has been heavily neglected in Arma 3 unfortinutely. Land and Air vehicles both saw official overhaul updates, however sadly, the naval side never did. I hold a lot of respect for the Gecko team for what they are trying to do.

Campaign wise, i really enjoy it.
While i am saddened that it's not character-focused like the East Wind campaign, It is refreshing to play this as a random soldier. It gives me the sense that i'm just another man in a war, not a action hero.

The first mission was rather slow-ish but also smart, because it directly plays into the second. I personally enjoyed playing a support role within the APC.
The intro of the second mission was definitely a highlight for me thus far.

Overall i REALLY do love this CLDC and look forward to its future and the Gecko's team advancements. I hope updates will come that iron out the main critisizms.

To me its price is reasonable, when you compare it to the official DLC's. its only $2 more, but it does add a lot of content, even if its mostly reskins.

My Final Note
If their is anything to say, i think it is this:
Treat this CDLC as a Official/Unofficial DLC to the game.
It's purpose is to expand pre-established lore, not create a new one.
