I love Borderlands with a passion. The original helped me kicked hard drug addiction by giving me something else to focus on. Borderlands 2 is an absolute masterpiece.

3 is good. Not great like 2 or endearing like 1, but good. The gameplay is as rock-solid as ever, but the writing quality has PLUMMETED. "Let's Flay"s? Really? Half of what the Calypso twins say are beneath what my 10 year old daughter could write.

Does that kill the game? Nah...like I said, it's fundamentally solid. The big issue is greed. We're on Season Pass 2, and the game has barely been on Steam for 8 months.

I could see Gearbox stretching it out for years with the "Live Service" model. There were 7 years between BL2 and 3. There's no doubt in my mind they'll drive it into the ground.

Randy Pitchford is more than content to charge a premium for subpar game modes (Arms Race), extra skill trees that should be free, and mediocre expansions while he twiddles his thumbs and encourages political violence and unrest on Twitter.

Not the best FF game, but definitely the trippiest.
