Absolutely incredible. I went into SOMA expecting a cool sci-fi horror game, but what I got was so much deeper, more emotional, and honestly unforgettable.

First off, the atmosphere is just next-level. From the moment you wake up in that strange, underwater world, you're completely hooked. Every hallway, every flooded room, every broken-down terminal feels heavy with meaning — it’s not just spooky for the sake of being spooky. There’s a constant tension, but it’s not the cheap "jump scare" kind of horror. It’s smarter, more psychological. It gets under your skin.

The story though — wow. I knew SOMA had a reputation for great writing, but it honestly blew me away. The way it explores identity, consciousness, and what it even means to be human hit me a lot harder than I expected. You think you're just trying to survive, but the game keeps throwing these existential curveballs at you that make you stop and think. It’s the kind of narrative that sticks with you long after the credits roll.

I also have to say: I really appreciated the way the game handles player choice. It's subtle, but powerful. Some of the decisions I made genuinely made me pause and reconsider what I thought was "right" or "humane." It never feels forced, and that's rare.

Gameplay-wise, SOMA doesn’t rely too much on combat — which I loved. You feel vulnerable the whole time, but it never gets frustrating. The monsters are terrifying because you're mostly powerless against them, and the stealth elements keep things tense without overwhelming the story.

The voice acting and sound design are both phenomenal. You can feel the sadness, the loneliness, and sometimes even the tiny flickers of hope through just the way characters speak or the distant creaks of the crumbling station around you.

If I had to nitpick, maybe a couple of the monster encounters slowed the pacing a little. But honestly, that’s such a tiny complaint compared to how masterfully everything else is handled.

In short: SOMA isn’t just a great horror game. It’s one of the best pieces of sci-fi storytelling I’ve ever experienced, period. If you haven't played it yet, you’re seriously missing out. It’s haunting, beautiful, and thought-provoking in a way few games are.

10/10 — would existentially panic underwater again.

Gay arse game. They force you to install their epic store malware onto your PC.
Game runs terrible, not optimized even for a bit. The biggest annoying part of everything is the constant crashing and the game freezing, most of the times you gotta ALT+F4 your way out of it.

Just don't buy it. Save your time and nerves by playing something else.

I remember back then I couldn't buy this game because I was a kid and my parents never had money for games. There used to be a demo on the internet, I replayed that like 100 times. The game might be really old but for me its still gold!

Everything was fine and good until someone hacked my SC acc and the email. I couldn't recover the acc, even contacted Rockstar Support. Now I can't play anything because I can't login into their fuc*ing servers. If there was only an offline mode, but nope. Unlinking my steam acc from Rockstar servers is not possible for me. Thank you Rockstar for putting Social Club as a MUST HAVE in order to play anything! I recommend everyone to turn on the 2 factor authentication login system! Its just a matter of time when will you be the next victim.

Am I the only one who is facing more bugs/glitches now then before the 2.0 update?

For an example : NPC's show up from nowhere with their cars, and they hit me so hard i fly over the whole map. NPC's cars get damaged when I look away. NPC's walk through objects and walls like its nothing.

I dont wanna even start talking about optimization. Its just terrible. (30 fps in the city???? You gotta be fing kidding me)

For my opinion, the game performed way better before the 2.0 Update. They added so much ♥♥♥♥ to it that they dont even know now where to start fixing.

Can I recommend this game to someone? No. This game steals your whole computer and delivers just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ results, which is not good for a game that is so old. I dont think they will ever fix that issue thou.

At the end, If you want this game so bad, atleast wait for it when it goes on sale for dirt cheap.
