currently 11/28/21:

game runs flawlessly (in terms of performance) at max settings 4k hdr 60fps on my PC (see specs below)

gameplay:

PROS-

game looks better than most of the other halos with better reflection mapping and reasonably solid material works (thanks digital foundry)
mechanics are solid and "mantle" works good enough to be usable (wish i had infinite hookshot thingies)

guns are neat and most work ok enough

CONS-

dropshield needs to be buffed (needs to be deployed instantly instead of on ground ala halo 3)

rocket launcher takes too long to initialize resulting in needless delays when trying to use it in tight situations

SKULLS: .. (still cons) skulls NEED to do instant death (thats the whole point) ... sure i can accept we cant sprint with skulls thats fine ... but nerfing the damage output of skulls (and flags) is absurd and both flags and skulls should be instant death to people

Customization:

PROS---

well... not much here really ... yey i can change my nametag with words and letters.. (yay?)
... can kindof change how guns look (but not really)
CONS--- halo 1 had more customization options (yes am exaggerating)

spartan cosmetic customization is limited to an absurd degree and a large portion of such is behind some absurd paywall

... halo Eldewrito (the fan made halo 3 multiplayer game using Halo Online assets) had the most indepth customization out of any halo i had ever seen and it used halo 3s base engine for it all using bits found from halo onlines files and bits found from the old halo 3 for windows vista release

halo infinite however only lets you choose presets for amor colors and does NOT allow for any reasonable direct control of colors be it a list of pre decided colors or the hex value color system

EXPERIENCE/LEVEL UP BITS

absurdly poor/low levels of XP granted for playing any round without even factoring in medals or performance (and so far does not seem to contribute to unlocking armor cosmetics)


CHAT/communication

Chat needs to allow for the use of profanity (with the option to enable/disable it) Chat needs to be able to cross communicate between teams (i have yet to find a game that stops the ability to talk to everyone on server)

Halo MCC and Infinite both have broken chat systems and VOIP is kinda jank (needs better options to fix levels among other issues)

VEHICLES....

while i am aware there are more vehicles than just the mongoose and ghost and warthog ... my time with the ones i did try show me that they need to be worked on

when a vehicle is about to explode it sometimes will give a warning sound for about 3 seconds or so then it blows up but there is hardly any reasonable level of visual indication that its actually about to blow up .. sure the craft looks damaged but the difference between "damaged" and "about to actually blow up" is so minimal its nearly imperceptible ... coupled with the fact the audio that is supposed to play for when the vehicle is about to kill you by exploding does not always play (yes i can agree that a direct hit from a rocket or something similar should be instant) ... the issue is continual buildup of damage resulting in vehicle explosions (think continuious shooting with turret or something)

overall the game is reasonably well polished with a few bugs still present (fix the stupidly absurd aim assist for controllers please)

if i had to give one rating this game would deserve a 6.5/10

if i had to rate Independent parts it would be like this:

P-ups 6/10 (some of these have been changed from older halos to now require a button press to activate them and apparently you kill yourself when you try to use a powerup for holding the skull)

while i would reccomend this game if they at least fixed the issues with the skull/flag and the abhorrent customization and level XP nonsense ... in its current state i do not reccomend this game and it sucks because i loved halo as a franchise and while yes i have not played the campaign for this one i am concerned as to how well the game will work with these issues i have cited

oddly floaty when just going about ... the bike and presentation dont feel like they have any weight to them ... MX vs ATV is better at depicting weight and force and is overall a more fun game to play

if you want this specific game sure get it for 5$ but even then it does not quite feel worth it (yes i used the "advanced physics") its a legitimate floaty mess that looks dated even by 2019 standards

while its a bit late on writing this ... the game is quite fun and physics are satisfying

this is a castle defender game but you are also allowed to attack the castles as well (usually at the same time)

gameplay: 8/10 solid physics and a reasonable selection of "weapons"

graphics: 8/10 good graphics with a reasonable upgrade over the first version of the game

music 8/10 ... while not exactly the custom music of the first one it does feature classical songs presented in a fun way (it matches quite well with the level choices as well)

overall: 8/10 ... would be better to see some revisions or expansions to this title but as it is currently it is a solid multiplayer platforming bashing party game

played through the entire game in 4k

honestly its graphics are nice and i wonder if they will do a revision for Unreal 5 when that comes out

the physics of the destruction can be satisfying but is not properly dynamic

i feel that the game would have been more fun if it was dynamic (think red faction geurilla building physics)

i agree that for poor and low end PCs that this pre rendered / predone physics works but for higher end PCs it should have a dynamic in engine physics solver

aside from the physics of it all the game presents a silly sci fi action .... platformer?

well its fun at any rate and if you can play through the entire story and enjoy the cutscenes and all that it is quite fun

i will say that overall its a good game

8/10 would shove a rod up peoples ass to get their brains again lol

this game is really fun for a while but it does tend to get a little repetative but the destruction physics are solid enough but could have been done with more intensity and in a more complete way that one can blow up houses and other things simply but as it is the physics are solid

game used to be fun and awesome but they made it very hard to mod the game and now i cant even load in

these lists of pros will be made from before these more recent experiences

pros

game play and story is fun and solid

graphics are solid and decent and in some cases do look cinematic
graphical mods improve the game loads without changing gameplay

physics are solid usually but the cars are kinda more like toys than cars
redux fixes that for me mostly while adding euphoria to the peds

story and RP elements are reasonable but the RP elements are simple and the story bits are interesting to follow along with

cons

online experience is riddled with hackers and autobans

modding is not easy for single player and many of the mods i wanted are no longer in production
those being Liberty city and some variations of the older Redux mods

the rockstar launcher just adds another middle man to the whole experience making the prospect of loading GTA or any rockstar game a hassle instead of a breeze

changing game files (modding) can result in the game no longer working properly when before the launcher the mods mostly were solid and had minimal issues

graphics will age with time and there is no native Ray tracing in game and the PCSS shadows feature looks decent but when you have certain assets near the floor they dont blend properly with the shadows like they would in real life or with ray tracing

a decent game but having played the first one (yes this is a sequel) in VR the experience in this one is watered down hella bad

gameplay wise its nearly identical to the VR one but the lack of presence is clear and obvious with the lack of a 360 camera (can only turn 45 degrees at a time and only at a maximum of 90 (45 left 45 right) )

this limiting camera coupled with the lack of depth from it being on my monitor instead of a VR headset really ruins it for me

if they had made it VR compatible for those with VR headsets ( i have a Rift and a Vive and the game never launches in VR)

it would be much better

overall it is a cute game like the first one and reasonably fun platformer but the lack of VR really kills it for me

add VR and this would be an easy recommendation

but without it i would say buy on sale

4/10 wish i was in VR again

a fun and interesting game with some small issues in performance (tho that was when i had the 780 ti and a 4th gen intel CPU

overall a fun story and interesting baddies

wish third was on steam as well

7/10 would waste pistol ammo shooting holes in cloth again

pretty silly game with some interesting game play tho its a bit simple at times and i wish i could stab as much as other things but overall its a fun game when on sale

7/10 would carjak finklestein again

game is hella fun with large areas and good graphics and an interesting story

mechanics is pretty solid tho combat is kinda clunky but all in all a solid game
