I still have so much to dig into with this game, but I love the pace and style of the single player. The levels are large and interesting enough to make me want to replay them. There's so much here that I'm excited to replay these levels before I even finish the main quest. Endless mode is a great, really suits this style of game with the HP/armor/ammo management. I woke up this morning excited to play Dusk, and it takes a LOT for a game to do this to me these days. Visual style is great, and somehow these devs have made the first Unity FPS I've ever played that actually makes shooting feel good.

There is multiplayer too, which is really energetic and fast. It feels a bit like a caricature of classic Quake gameplay, for better AND for worse. It's fun and easy to pick up, but lacks a lot of the depth I want in this kind of FPS. I will definitely be playing online but it won't steal me away from Quake - although I don't think it wants to. MP is designed to be fun to pick up above anything else and I respect that.

If you like classic single player Quake/Doom/Duke 3D/etc then buy this. You will get lots from the offline and be able to play some fun online games to boot.

Lots of ♥♥♥♥ going on with QL after the 2 most recent updates. They sprung a price of $10 on the game and it's made a lot of people unhappy.

I enjoy playing Quake Live. It's the most fun I've ever had playing a game, and the most I've ever played one specific game. It's easy to keep coming back to time and time again, because at the end of the day it's a pure Arena Shooter - every game starts on equal terms, and it's down to player skill how it goes. Loadout servers are the exception, but those servers are boring ;)

Some people are arguing that now the game costs money they'll just play Quake 3 instead, but Q3 is still rediculously overpriced on Steam. Buy this instead, and you'll actually be abl to play with people. If you're sitting on the fence, wait for it to go on sale.

This game's had it's problems, but it's a classic everyone should try it. Very strongly reccomend!
