It has the rich atmosphere of games like Alien Isolation and Prey, the mind-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Evangelion, and some cinematography akin to that of the Monogatari series. It was a beautiful and fairly challenging game. I really enjoyed my time trying to make sense of it. Definitely recommend.

Jumping from 2016 to Eternal was very weird I thought i had everything figured it out since I assumed this would be Doom 2016 v2. This game, however, kicks your ass if you fail to adapt and treat it just like 2016. I was on the fence as to whether or not i liked this game more than 2016 or not, but i changed my mind the more i played it.

After listening to the game, learning the mechanics, and getting used to the game's flow, you will be surprised how far you can go. The first run of the game is basically the tutorial to prepare you for the higher difficulties as one gets used to all the new mechanics. But eventually, everything clicks and something as seemingly impossible as doing an ultra-nightmare run will become feasible.

There are a bunch of BS moments and enemies but deleting them from the game with your weapons after they have kicked your ass so many times is pretty satisfying. This is a game that makes you frustrated but you keep coming back to it to overcome the BS it throws at you.

Some things I disliked were not being able to skip some of the animations that play during a level telling you where to go as they take movement away from the player as well as the sentinel battery animations. It would be nice if in Ultra-Nightmare these could be skipped. The hub is cool but it is a bit annoying to traverse on repeat playthroughs eg. getting the ice bomb, go to the ripatorium and blah blah; and again, the unskippable animations become annoying after replaying the game. These are the only negatives i could think of but they all boil down to taking you away from the demon slaying spree.

The OST is great but not all tracks make you as bloodthirsty as in 2016. The most notable ones are the ones that play in Exultia and Arc Complex; they make you feel like a badass.

Overall, spectacular game. I wish more games were as well crafted and made with passion as this one.

Rip and tear indeed. This is the best game to get your mind off of something and just have fun while living a power fantasy. The gunplay is awesome, the glory kills satisfying, you truly feel unstoppable. I got it on sale but i think i would have payed full price.

This game rocks. When you first start getting into the game, you will suck a lot. But practice makes perfect or something like that. Once you get over the initial difficulty bump, you have countless hours of fun, then some frustration, and then even more fun. The new Repentance DLC is amazing, I got the game with the base game and previous DLCs for a discount, but I would have still payed full price if I had to; it's just that good. There are so many new items, secrets, QoL changes, balancing, and improvemets to mediocre items (Holy Water etc.) that are a net positive for the health of the game in the long run. Runs don't feel as repetitive since there is more variety of synergies, rooms etc. That being said, this game has gotten more challenging with the update and it is refreshing to struggle again. I sometimes hate this game but I quickly forget about it and end up playing it anyways due to how rewarding and fun it can be.

TLDR: Just buy the darn thing already, it's good.
