As other's have described it... this game knows it is a video game. It's just dumb fun. You're going to literally think it's one of the worst games ever made when you first try it, but don't give up on it. After 5, 6, 7... missions, it'll get you and you'll want to keep playing. There are so many things that are terrible about this game, but... it's more fun than the vast majority of polished games I've played in the last few years.

EDIT: The most recent update did help with #5, but not enough to make my rating positive yet.

On the surface this game is amazing. I like a lot about it, and I keep coming back and wanting to like it. However, once you get into it, you start to realize how shallow it is and many small frustrating or poorly designed things start to mount up and overwhelm the good.

1. I don't know how it is possible, but somehow all the guns simultaneously feel overpowered and under powered. I think the effects, gib, etc. makes them feel really good, but then you get swarmed by 50 enemies who aren't hard or interesting, and you find yourself fumbling through your guns and none of them really get the job done like you want them to.

2. Reloading is AWFUL. This is not the kind of game to have reloading. I like to swap guns fairly often (and the game even encourages you to with different armor level or whatever) and I find 3 or 4 times through the battle I just have to run away, cycle through all my guns to reload them, then go back to the fight. THIS ISN'T FUN. Especially for the shotgun, PLEASE take out reloading. Please please please.

3. There are too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ items everywhere! No item feels impactful or even memorable when you pick it up because there are so many scattered around. Literally half the time I am playing this game, I am running around picking up stupid little powerups that are scattered EVERYWHERE and... I just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ want to. Then, you run around picking up little ♥♥♥♥ just to find a room that fills you up on most everything anyway. WHY? Why would I want to run around picking up 10 different items that give me +10 HP when you could put ONE somewhere with +100 that I can give a ♥♥♥♥ about when I find. It's not fun.

4. The enemies aren't different enough. The men shoot you. The ugly aliens run at you. THe big men shoot at you and grenade with a bunch of HP. The big aliens shoot fireballs at you. THAT'S IT. There are so many types of little different guys who seem to do the same thing. Why? None of them are memorable because none of them seem different. Have one throw a net around you if they get close! Have a suicide bomber. I don't know, just ANYTHING except another hard to see guy who shoots you.

5. The damage you take isn't clear in several ways. As I am battling, I have no idea how I am doing until I look down at my HP and armor. Sometimes I will look down and be almost dead and have no idea why. Other times I'll be battling for ever and still somehow be full. I also have no idea which attacks do more damage. Maybe there's an indicator or the screen flashes more red for more damage or something, but I don't see it.

6. The level designs aren't great. The buttons you need to press are often easily missable. I ran around one level for about 30 minutes once just in awe of how I had absolutely no idea where to go. I thought, "I'm NOT this stupid, right?" Then I finally find this tiny yellow button behind some crates I had to press. I'd been back there a couple times jumping around and missed it. It sucks. SOLUTION: Once you haven't done your next objective after about 30 seconds, have a non invasive arrow or something to point you to the next objective.

7. THE SLIDING MOVEMENT!!! Oh my god you need to fire EVERYONE who thought it was a good idea to have the entire game feel like you are on an ice rink. I miss SO many shots because of the sliding. It's awful. Remove it.

TLDR: Slidey movement, too many items, uninteresting enemies, it's not very good in the end.

I haven't pulled out my VR headset in about a year. I was pretty underwhelmed with most of my VR experiences no matter how much I wanted to like them (exceptions for HL Alex and Blade and Sorcery) and I was bored of all of them.

I bought this immediately because I love the normal game. The first few rooms I found myself just standing and looking around and let out a genuine "Wow."

This is the VR game I have been wanting for a long time.

Runs great on my Valve Index and 3080ti at max settings.

The only reason I would tell someone to not buy this game is if they have a weak stomach for motion sickness. I have a pretty iron clad stomach, but after 45 minutes, I had to turn it off. If you're more sensative to that kinda thing... you may only get a few minutes. This is nothing the developers can fix because of the nature of the game and I don't want them to, but it still should be said.

Having lots of fun so far. It's clean, novel, and fast. New update improves matchmaking and progression speed.

I'm only 4 hours in and I see HUGE potential. Yes. Buy this game if you like strategy and story.

This is a mediocre game. You just like it because you're a crab. Seriously. Imagine the exact same game but you are a human shooting zombies. That sounds super generic, right? That's because this game is super generic... you are just a crab.

I will play more, but at the moment I am not super impressed.

It's a good looking game with zero new or interesting ideas. Seriously. It's like the developer loves to make models, worlds, etc. but never stopped once to check and see if the game was actually fun or original in any way.

It's fun, addicting, and very stupid. I love it.

I can't stop playing! Scratches every gaming itch I have. I can't wait for more content.

Edit after a lot more play. I still can't get enough of this game. I'm finding new fun and OP builds all the time. I can't recommend this game enough. I want more content even more now.

EDIT: 1.0 is out and I am VERY impressed by how much polish has been done. It's even better now! Cannot recommend more!
